Well that's a dumb question seeing as how Phil hasn't even started his job yet. All Phil has done so far is get rid of the bad apples and the contract that we needed gone.

who's more of a productive player, JR or calderone, then ask yourself did he really get rid of a contract we needed gone or did he add more.

There's no way JR would've opted out if he stayed a Knick.

I would've liked to get a first round pick for Shump, but oh well. I would've liked to get a first round pick for Tyson, more so.

Seriously, how dumb is JR to opt out this summer? Next summer the cap jumps up like crazy and every team will have money they HAVE to spend - remember every team in the league HAS to be at 90% of the salary cap.

No he absolutely was not worth it this year and i wouldn't dare even try to argue that but the whole team sucked last year and when things are as bad as it was it trickles down on everyone. I think it affected THJ and Calderon and everyone and with better players around him i absolutely think we can see the Calderon we thought we were getting and i think Timmy will be better also.

Phil is proven. If he had gotten Steve Kerr to coach.... Isiah is only proven to be a boytoy. Phil is unproven at GM whereas Isiah is proven a failed GM.

I voted Phil. Screw Isiah, I want nothing to do with that bum, even though his draft selection was above par.

Say what you want about him and his time here but the man KNOWS BASKETBALL. He may not be Head Coaching material but just listening to him during his tenure as an analyst on NBATV, and you can tell his knowledge and of the game FAR EXCEEDS that of ANY of the other players turned TV analyst.

The man knows basketball and he knows how to evaluate players and the game

isiah sucked although he was good at drafting other than balkman. I give phil the edge but that isnt saying much

It's a huge myth that Isaiah is some sort of draft genius. He's made some nice picks but his batting average so to speak isn't any better than any other generic executive and I guarantee that that generic executive has a whole lot less downside than Isaiah brings to the table. BTW, Ariza was a good 2 way player picked by Thomas.

On the other hand just saying Isaiah isn't some mythical
Drafter doesn't mean he is Better or worse than Jackson.

Now that would be an interesting and somewhat daunting statistical study...look at individual GMs and try to come up with success rates by GM.

I think IT draft record was decent at least but I still don't even want to mention his name or acknowledge he's even in the vicinity let alone give him the reigns to the freakin draft. I still have my concerns about Phil, but he hasn't screwed anything up yet so I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Wrong way to look at it. The majority of Isiahs picks are still in the league and considering they werent high picks thats nothing short of amazing. During Isiahs exec time the term "two-way" wasnt even a draft factor. isiah will be consulted, only a fool wouldnt.

Yeah, there was an article on production relative to draft pick #. He got much better outcomes than you would expect from picks in the 20 to 40 range.
