To LA: Melo
To Sac: 2 + 4
To NY: Cousins + 6
Why LA does it: saves randle/clarkson and gives kobe a chance at least
clarkson, kobe, melo, randle, ______
Why SAC does it: complete rebuild and doing in 1 year what philly couldn't do in 3 years which is have an all lottery team
mudiay, mclemore, stauskas, gay, okafor
Why NY does it: Refresh. Best center in the game at age 25.
Obviously there would be more that goes into it.. is there any realistic way something like this could happen?
NO WAY LA does this. Stupid azz trade idea. #2 draft pick for a 30yr old coming off a serious injury ??? Really?

Oh, ok. Can't believe I didn't realize how stupid azz this idea is.
No chance I would rather have Melo and the 4th pick than Cousins and the 6. Your just finding out that Cousins has demands and he is the type of player that will wear out his welcome here.
Id love to unload Melo's contract but Cousins is a headcase and would probably go crazier in NY. Also I don't want to move out of 4 at this point
ive posted this trade twice, it was silly dream then and a silly dream now but wouldnt it be nice?
I am not a Melo fan but that is a terrible trade for us.
First off that would be a GREAT trade for us. Getting rid of Melos contract, and dropping only two spots in the draft.:.on top of all that getting Cousins. And you think that's a terrible trade? I swear to god only Knicks fans lol
Not that it would ever happen, but to say that's a bad trade for the Knicks is idiotic.
Cousins is a terrific player, but a knucklehead and locker room doosh (sic). No thank you. Melo is a more valuable asset than that.

yup
I can't see the Lakers doing that deal, unless they get back the 6th pick instead of us. But if they get the 6th pick, why do we still do the deal? I'd need a future pick back in the deal as well as Ben McClemore and Nik Staukaus to even consider it. But I wouldn't mind moving Melo and effectively getting back DeMarcus Cousins.
Maybe an iteration we can do is Melo and Calderon to the Heat for their 10th pick and players. Then move those players, the 4th and 10th pick for Cousins, a 2017 pick swap, some 2nd rounders, and $6 million more in cap space. It'd effectively allow us the flexibility to have a blank check to build a team around Cousins moving forward.
Melo and the #4 for Cousins and the #6. So we're saying Cousins is worth more than Melo? Age considerations obvious, I still don't know about that. As it is, if we offered Melo to Sac for Cousins and the #6, they would most likely accept. (Discounting Melo's no trade, obviously)
smh..this is a horrible trade idea
The way to sweep up in this is trade Melo for Cousins and the #6. Then trade Cousins to the Lakers for the #2 and Julius Randle. Then we have the #2, #4, #6 and last year's #7. Then we go and sign a few of the top free agents and rebuild the team.
Of course that would mean Melo was playing in Sac which would never happen.
