Where was Darko picked??..Honestly, the kid is 220 lbs soaking wet...He will make Frank Kaminsky look like Dwight Howard...
Doesn't matter anyway, I'm a Knick fan...This goes with the territory..
Sorry but these are really fvcking stupid comments. It would be like saying that Winslow is a big gamble because look where Rivers was picked. Makes absolutely no sense. Further Zinger will likely not be playing against Kaminski so I'm not sure why you are comparing them. Does that mean that Kaminski's brawn will put Durant to shame?
CrushAlot wrote:He has done a great job
AGREED!!! No matter who we may each have wanted to draft at #4 this was Phil's job to make the call on what was the BPA and he did that in his estimation. The upside of Kris is extremely high. I think he can be better than Bargs at his best and if we're lucky he can be another Dirk type player. I will say that I love his passion to be great. You can't underestimate desire and passion to be great. The one thing we say about Bargs is that he doesn't have that passion to be great. That's what holds him back. It's like he doesn't have any fire and Kris is the complete opposite of that.

Perhaps you need to grow a thicker skin. If someone comes on this board and continually points out how inept of a failure that the GM is over and aver again multiple times a day and then creates posts and threads on draft night using the pick as an ax ample of further ineptitude without any back up data.....he better be prepared to be called out on it.

Please enlighten me..What positives have you experienced as a Knick fan that Im missing??..Back up data is 17 wins...Fisher is lost as a coach..Phil says one thing and does another..Haven't you heard Phil talk defense over the last year?? Where is that player??..Pleas tell me what has he done for me to feel like he is headed in the right direction?

Dude at the 4 can't play defense in this league, period..Tyson trade got us a worse contract in Calderon who is a bigger loser in NY..

yes that is the message phil jackson is sending the knicks: he is drafting for life beyond carmelo anthony. melo does his job of making obscene money and building his stupid brand, while jackson goes about his job of building a winner slowly and patiently. i think it is possible that melo asks out of new york within the next two seasons....
that's a good plan.

I question a lot of things. Perhaps it's you who are not able to ask the right questions nor see beneath the surface on anything. Please indicate how you know with 100% accuracy which player drafted tonight will turn out better than which other player. The answer is that you dont. Most of these guys will not perform to expectations. A few will greatly exceed and a few more will perform well and go on to be solid NBA players. The truth is that you have really no idea how much of a project that Zinger will be and are basing an argument solely based on your uneducated opinion in this matter.
Further, anyone who has paid attention on this board would know that you have a hard on for bad mouthing Jackson since the day he was hired. You have carried that agenda forward on this board ad Nauseum. The Knicks reached a low point last year. Any fool could see that the model that was built prior to Jackson was both fragile and a house of cards. If it was mostly blown up and he is now starting to bring in young useful future pieces like Zinger and Grant and Galloway would realize that it is not spinning out of control.
I'm not that insecure that I need to continually call out the coach and GM for their sickness to make myself feel better. Their body of work is incomplete in my opinion. Unlike Mr need for instant gratification, I need to see how this unfolds.

this is pretty on point. i like holfresh, but i think he's being a little to quick to judge on not only pjax but especially with this pick. porzingis might end up being a great pick, maybe not. but fact is, these foreign kids are scouted harder more than the local kids because the microsope is out on them and these are guys that can costs jobs if there is a total bust. i have faith that we did dotted the i's and crossed our t's and made the right pick. let's just all sit back and watch the porzingis and the knicks development.
accordign to wojo, most of the leagues most respected GM's think porzingis has the most potential in the draft. i'll take it.

I don't agree often with DK but on this I agree 100%. With this pick if Zinger is retained it shows that Phil is building a team beyond Melo. I also agree that he will likely look to get Melo's buy in to trade him if Melo is malcontent this year.

you're the one who strongly implied it in your post-- operative word in your post is "rebuilding" as in "not trying in earnest to win with melo."
please don't start in with the clowning... what's done is done and the message has been sent. you can root for melo wherever he ends up after he demands a trade.
