It's an asset I hope we move in the next couple of days
Its high risk high reward. Talent is there but the bust factor is a bit higher. The problem is that we have too many holes and no picks next year
Ben Golliver: Knicks president Phil Jackson: “We could not pass on Kristaps. He has eye-opening talent and is ready for the challenge to play in NYC.”
it is an indication of building a team regardless of carmelo anthony's ridiculous contact. i approve of this approach although i half-expected jackson to go with winslow as an indication that he was going to try to win it all with melo. to jackson's credit, he sees that the knicks cannot win with melo so he is drafting for life beyond melo.
The kid has skills but it's going to be very hard to get over the Euro bust factor.

i still think melo resigning was more dolan than phil. Phil was never a huge melo guy anyway. He asked melo to take less and that didnt exactly happen

that's exactly how i see it. dolan gets to keep his toy train while the adult makes long-term plans. jackson loves the knicks franchise more than dolan. that's not hard to fathom.

Man how does a questionable pick from phil turn into a Anti-Melo and Dolan thread?

Took a lot of guts for Jackson to do this.
Its a legacy thing for him as a GM, or whatever his title is.
Love the pick. Medium risk, high reward. High floor, high ceiling, perhaps as good a bet as KAT.
At worst, he's Steve Novak or Kelly Olynyk. At best, maybe he's vintage Ralph Sampson, the next Dirk or Pau.
Too each his own
for fans forum on this board to 66% love porzinngy pick
got me scratching their heads
123mil Carmelo
60mil Phil J
25mil DFish,
Love 4th pick? hell no
We roll dice since George McGinnis days here, Antonio Mcdyess, Frederick Weis/blunders,
Marcus Canby deals for Mcdyess, involve shipping None out
Yep DJ seen that guessing crap epic fails in knick land.

oh i agree i like the kid. Unfortunetly Unless you praise the pick as the next dirk you are accused of not liking euro players. He is very talented and if he reaches his potential he can be scary

Many fans have no patience which is understandable.
Without taking this kind of risks there is no way to build great team in NBA.
Especially in the situation Knicks are for so long.
Yes this can be a miss. But who is not trying is doomed to lose regardless.
Yes, I think he was worth the risk. Fingers crossed. Way happy we passed on Mudiay.

I still personally feel we would have been much better of with someone ready to impact now like Stein and then sign Carroll and move Melo to PF
Grant
Shved
Carroll
Melo
Stein
But I'm somewhat content with developing Kris.

So, now you've got a lineup of
Kris
Grant
Shaved
Melo

Lots of scoring, weak side defense. We're gonna make it.
