DeAndre Jordan will visit Knicks
June 26th, 2015 5:33 pm
Center DeAndre Jordan will visit the Knicks, among other teams, in his free agency search.
Jordan will also reportedly take visits with the Lakers, Mavericks and Bucks.
He reportedly wants “to be more involved in the offense and wants to be an All-Star,” according to Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times (June 26).
Jordan averaged 11.5 points, 15.0 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in 34.4 minutes per game last season for the Clippers.
Our money is green!!! We just have to put that recruiting package together and sell, sell, sell. Can't do it as well as we should with Melo acting up. He's got to clean this up.
We could offer Jordan a good role he could handle. Heck if Amundson could be more involved surely he can.
Maybe Phil really does want a Tyson Chandler. I don't like spending most the cap room on him.
OMG - I just posted on the other thread. YEA!!!
I'm not the hugest Jordan fan, but a frontline of Jordan, potentially Kristaps and Melo is championship caliber.

no its not..... but its significantly better
I wonder if Jordan would do a one and one deal so that he could come here and cash in on the 2016 cap explosion with Bird Rights raises?
He's a game changing presence who I would think about offering most of the cap room to.
If he wants to be an all star, come east young man!
Not sure the triangle gets him his points that he wants, but he would fix a lot of problems.

Oh he'd score more in the Triangle. He'd touch the ball more and be put near the basket on the regular. Totally different from how he's used now. The only problem is that he can't hit FT's

He's no WCS, but I'd take him.
Seriously if KP develops into a scorer, that's a fantastic front line.

I agree it's not and it's eerily close to the front line Phil destroyed although Amare's health destroyed it first and Kris' range could create the spacing "entire cap 1.0" did not.

I think he'd love the Triangle. Phil would whip out the Shaq tapes and totally sell him on how he could win a title playing the Shaq role in the offense.
Nice, he is unlikely to come to us but if he were, having two lob targets in Jordan and KP gives our back court a lot to work with.

Yeah I was thinking that it looked a lot like what the knicks had on paper just a year ago too.
I'll say this though of they could get Jordan and Danny Green then I would be cool.

Can we afford both?
Has Melo actually said anything other than the THJ tweet which said he will miss him? Most people do that in any career to be polite. Assuming most of you have jobs, you've never said a nice thing or participated in a going away, or done anything remotely nice for somebody walking out there door despite being pumped to see them leave? It's the same thing.
Love or hate Melo, this is beyond blown out of proportion. If you don't think he wants good players here your either really stupid or completely insane.
yeah max contract easy. I think he can expand his offense as well. Takes huge pressure off of some of our weaker defensive parts.

+1 - What you said, plus this is a huge upgrade over paying Monroe max or near max money if we can make it happen.
FYI, it will almost certainly take a max offer to sign Jordan and his max starts at $20M.
