for
Isiah Thomas
Gerald Wallace
Jordan Mickey
Brooklyn unrestricted 2016 pick
and one of Bostons 4 2017 #1 st round picks.
The players in this deal don't really make a huge difference for the Knicks so it's all about the picks which I don't see being that good either. Boston would end up out of the lottery the next few years. I'd say no to this trade.

We thought the same thing when we got Melo? Eddy? Bargnani?
Melo to Miami for Justise and Dragic.
Miami resigns Wade.
Melo to Miami would be good for La La (her make up company Market America slut friends are there)and Melo can extend his Pueto Rican Soccer team connection.
Melo bought a soccer team in a US territory about to go into default.
We save 70 mil and get all those picks? I can't imagine it but I'd do it in a heartbeat.

How do you convince Carmelo to sign off on a deal to Boston?

exactly. melo would never agree to that. folks just trust me when i say Melo LOVES NYC. even more than winning. he really LOVES NYC and its great for his family. and dont forget his wife runs the show so she has to sign off on these transactions. Melo simply plays basketball, she runs the family business

Don't forget he has a $15 mil trade kicker this year. Maybe he loves NYC more than winning and money though. Who knows.
It's a lump sum payment, meaning Dolan hands him a $15 mil check the day he's traded. That amount decreases the further into his contract he is though.
if there was a realistic destination for him this off season, it would be Cleveland.

why? what could CLE give up that the Knicks could grow with?
The Miami suggestion seems decent - Justise and Dragic - but would the Knicks really want to load up Miami?

The hardest part might be convincing Dolan to do this. He will have spent about $40 mil for half of one season of Melo

I agree. I think that he makes a lot of sense for cleveland.
these lebron years may be the last time they sniff a ring in any sport in the next 100 years.

Sounds good. I don't think we're getting all the picks and assets people here are salivating over. I think it would be something like Verajao and 70 mil cap space for Melo

What does Cleveland have to offer?

I certainly agree that people are in lala land in regards to what we can get. However, I think that we may be able to get more out of cleveland because they are so desperate to win now with Lebron.

Cap space, draft picks and Mozgov get it done.

Miami's window does not conflict with ours. They can still be relevant and contend with a Melo-bosh-wade core in the east.
I'd take Melo for Justise straight up!!! Dealing with Miami is about the future. I'd even move Dragic for for some package mostly centric on picks.
Im patient. The cries of SAS and many are "This does not make the team better NOW!"
Phil is rebuilding. Im ok with Melo, but if all can live happily ever after Im OK.
Trading Melo would be hard even without the no-trade clause. You need to find similar salaries to make the deal or a team with cap space to absorb his contract. I don't think Miami has cap space. Boston does.
Also..I doubt Melo agrees to the Boston trade. I think if he agrees it would be to Cleveland to play with LeBron or to the Lakers. He either wants to win a championship or keep on building his brand.
remember, any trade you guys think of...always recheck to think if LaLa would sign off on it!!!
