This idea that we're going to be able to lure players from the best franchises in the sport... it's not happening.
How's Arron Afflalo looking now? More realistic?
Also, doesn't this kind of knock the Spurs out of contention for LMA?
Good deal for Danny. Too bad for Knicks. I was hoping we could get him but it was a long shot. Things move real quick in FA. It may be tough to pry Carroll lose as well. This is why Knicks probably have been dealing with Afflalo.

were the oakland raiders of the NBA...on the way up but still no respect. we will only attract old stars, reclamation projects, or diamonds in the rough

I was wondering about that. Hopefully Houston does something ridiculous.

Wondering if they got word that LMA prefers the Lakers? I sort of think he's going to the Lake Show. Which, honestly, seems sort of a weird fit. But you have to think the Lakers were pretty confident they'd get him to pass on Okafor in the draft.

It was never about luring hium away from the Spurs it was always about them not being able to afford him with LMA so he would go elsewhere.

When the LMA thing came up, I thought there was a slight chance. But people have been talking about Danny Green since like February around here, well before there were LMA rumors to San Antonio. I just never thought he'd leave that franchise. It's the gold standard.

And a better fit. I would've liked to see how Green would fair without Pops and his system. And how he would fair without Tim Duncan. Affalo hasn't had those luxuries and he put up 18ots on 43% from 3 and led Denver to the playoffs 2yrs ago. He is a better fit. He can create with the ball whereas Green & Matthews are spot up shooters. Matthews coming off major surgery. We need to hold teams pass on Affalo with his stock being low and offer him $8mil per. Low risk high reward if he gets back to scoring and 40%+ 3pt%

They are going to sign LMA. They just traded Splitter to Atlanta

Love to the Lakers. Bank on it
PG-Russell
SG-Kobe/Swaggy P
SF-Lance Jr
PF-Love/Boozer
C-Randle/Jordan Hill
Not too shabby
Timmy and Manu will play for a lot less and keep on playing limited roles.
Keep it fun and winning. Its a special situation where the Culture they have feeds on itself.
Remember lots of smoke screens in free agency.

Don't forget Clarkson. Lakers will be pretty good.
Green was never coming here, unfortunately. Plus, why overpay for a spot up shooter? Id rather we take a gamble on Matthews and get him at a discount due to the injury tanking his value.
D Carroll to Toronto of all teams. Another one bites the dust
