don't look at the age, look at the number of years in the league (4).
I am sure that MANY MANY more than 9 guys put up those numbers by year 4.
Maybe but those guys were in or approaching their physical prime. I'd gamble on Tobias any day but that's just me.
I know you like him and I really do trust your opinion. I have not seen him much but the WS scares me. Would you pay him 13-15 million?
Yes, I would based on the percentage of his salary towards the cap going forward and because I see improvement in his game.. I also think he would be a good fit going forward. I mean what's the down side?
How much would you give him?
15m is what I would Give him but that's not what I like to give him

$15M sounds good at this point.
is he a 2 way player? Not sure.
He does want to be here and he is a good offensive player.

But where do you play him? At SF with Melo sliding at PF again and RoLo at C? Phil seems to want Melo at SF, though.
- toby and his fam want to be here
- hes not a good defensive player
- he or melo can play the 3 or 4

Harris seems to be decent enough defending power forwards. He'd have to improve, but there's hope.

Orlando is cheap but I am not sure if they wouldn't match after losing out on Milsap.

Not sure Melo can guard the 3 anymore. Not that he can guard the 4 but.....with Lopez maybe.
The ideal C would give a low post presence and hit the elbow jumper consistently while being able to pass and defend the rim. Lopez does not check all of those but he defends and rebounds. Melo can play the post and Harris can do both. Its not ideal but it can work.

Very true they would have to go full max and "Parsons" the deal. Even that's a reach. The other worst option is work out a trade before he signs and offer sheet. I wouldn't do that because I am sure they would try to pry a 1st.

This is a very good point. Harris is so young and with the cap rising, if you sign him to a max, he's still emminently tradeable moving forward.
Tobias is a poor man's Carmelo Anthony. The both can score in multiple ways, they both are ball hogs, and they both are average at defense (with Harris probably being worse). While a front court of Harris and Anthony would give us scoring, we would be killed on defense and rebounding. Even if we added Lopez, I still think that front-court would be fairly weak. That being said, if Phil thinks it can work, I will not complain too much. Since Harris's is coming off his rookie contract, his max (which is what he is going to want) will only be in the $15 mill range. I think that is probably $3-$4 mill more than he is worth, but the kid is young and could get better in multiple areas.
Have a feeling if we ink Robin Lopez, Tobias could be next
Yea Harris is close to signing a contract with a mystery team ... It's probably us

What makes you say thaat...You have inside sources?

I don't know if it would be possible. A lot of variables. Maybe if you got Robin for 10 mil and stretched Jose and did something else to create space you could offer him a deal.
Maybe sign & trade Tobias for Calderon and flip the draft picks Zinger & Super Mario.
Also found it interesting that Isiah Thomas was hyping Tobias Harris on NBA TV
I think the Lakers give him a 17-18mm $ offer. They need to do something and they can play him at 3.

I don't think his max is that high.
The one nice move on Lopez is that we can sign Harris!! Wouldn't be surprised if it were known soon
