Eeesshh...I didn't expect LMA either way but not going to lie, a little concerning that it went down this way (their camp didn't know sooner we would him as Center? Our camp didn't realize he wouldn't play Center?).
Hope the report is wrong because it just seems a little sloppy on our end.
dude is soft! i wasnt a big fan of him here anyways
Sounds fishy- how would he have found out we wanted him to play C if he didn't even meet with us?
Either way he didn't really fit well with Melo and I never really wanted him here. We need a front court player who can defend.

Knicks have to just move on. It's not the end of the world. We need to focus on guys that want to be here.

That's a short list, at least.

So they should lie to LMA and tell him they don't intend to use him at C? I don't get your point here.

attaboy nix we need those silver linings
diva
his camp sure does like to trash other organizations along the way

The Suns went out and bought Tyson Chandler to play next to LMA and Suns are now second on his list.
It's WELL KNOWN that LMA doesn't want to play center.
Knicks could've secured Robin Lopez and then chased LMA if they really wanted a shot.
They had the cap room for both those guys before Afflalo.
So now he's having a second meeting with LA who will also want him to play C?
Sounds like the market might be frozen until we get some resolution from Jordan and LA.

I don't understand why this is a let-down anyways. No one ever saw him as a likely signing.
That was why I wanted Bobby Portis so much with our 2nd 1st rounder in the trade
With 2 athletic PF/C's that could both rebound/block shots and score in deep post/mid post/ mid range and 3pter for KP, it allows a penetration lane for guards/F's to use as #1 option at all times
Pat the Rat will walk out with LMA.
There are teams that can sign both LMA and DeAndre Jordan while DJ can defend 5 positions as well and is only 26 and a DPOY candidate
If CA actually took less, Greg Monroe or Jordan can play Center, with LMA at PF and Center till KP's develops his body, LA doesn't mind playing SOME minutes at Center when needed, but for majority of the time especially if CA is the PF, though CA is better defensively at PF than at SF for much of the league, especially as he continues to age
Another reason why I DO NOT KNOW WHY we signed Affalo, who will be 30, and is more of a undersized SF than SG
While we could have signed LA/Jordan if we were able to move Calderon and Early, if stretched Calderon and moved Early, we would need them to take slight discounts, IF WE DIDN"T SIGN AFFALO

agreed i never thought we had a chance in hell. However things arent exactly looking great for us. We suffered a 17 win season with the thought that we would at least get one of the top 3 prospects in the draft...that didnt happen. We cleared all that cap space to at least get some talent in here and so far we are striking out. Yes the offseason just started so im not giving up but im a little worried

I don't want to be mean to Phil - but this is a disaster. Every single move he's made his been a disaster - outside of maybe the draft. But even then we somehow missed out on three sure thing all-stars for a maybe all-star. Maybe KP is a steal, he's likely not Towns or Russell though.
I mean, I like Phil, but he has not done well here. He's whiffed on FA after blowing up the team for no assets. He gave away Tyson and Shump who signed for a combined $93M in FA.
