Thank you Magic for not giving Phil any stupid ideas.
NYY1NYK2 @ 7/7/2015 4:20 PM
major bullet dodged....Send orlando a thank you card
mreinman @ 7/7/2015 4:21 PM
orlando is really doing a great job with that team.
smackeddog @ 7/7/2015 4:22 PM
Rejoice!

Not a fan of his at all, but he's just had a kid so getting a good chunk of money in a cheaper place to live is a good move for him

I didn't think you'd be a fan of Jason smith's. I agree though, I like what the magic have done- should take a big step forward next season

fishmike @ 7/7/2015 4:25 PM
He will replace Quinn.... whooop de do
Knixkik @ 7/7/2015 4:26 PM
Very interesting how they prefer the older, poorer defensive player at more money than resigning O'Quinn. Worked out well for us i guess.
TPercy @ 7/7/2015 4:27 PM
Payton
Hezonja
Harris
Gordon
Vucevic
Sixth man: Oladipo
Magic have a really talented team with good chemistry for next year. It's up to their defense and coaching whether or not they do well.

wow. a plug for the knicks medical staff. Thats a first.

I wish they focused on keeping the good players healthy first.

Didn't Jackson revamp the medical staff when he came in?

If you were a believer in tanking, wouldn't you have wanted a staff that kept the better players on the bench?

Rookie @ 7/7/2015 5:09 PM
We're all out of Smith's

I though that he lost the battle with the medical staff and that Dolan kept them.

Phil did loose - because it wasn't part of the basketball operations, or some other bs excuse.

But, given the vast difference in medical staff & players staying healthy in Phoenix vs. NY - I'd say it is very much basketball related.

I think that chick doctor was giving the boot (isiah hired her), but roger hines is still part of the training crew.

Jason smith was a good fit for the triangle, he just needed more defensive energy around him, sometimes all you need is 2 or 3 defensive minded guys around you, and the sht rubs off.

I thought Melo played some of his best defense the first few months of the 54 win season. Having guys like sheed, kidd, KT, Kmart, and camby around him, made him a little more consistent.

DJMUSIC @ 7/8/2015 3:11 AM
Jason Smith left cause he couldn't take the kid KP,
Playing over him so soon on knickerbockers taking Smiths minutes.

RedmenBaller @ 7/8/2015 8:31 AM
Why would we want a proven pro that has been consistent on the NBA... everyone here loves all these aleepers and what ifs. We will soon come to find out why the free agents picked up were not picked up by their own teams. Don't understand why Phil didn't p ick up Smith, Bags, and Shved. We saw first hand that when healthy and given minutes they produced. Think they were all worth 4M compared to these other unproven players. Some of which already have shown to be second or third team. ND would have rather picked up a cheap Defensive big and those three instead of Lopez at 14M.

maybe because Jason Smith and Bargs have a negative impact when they play.
