Yup...and its been happening more and more in the past few years for me.

Of course as a Jets fan I was obligated to hate him at the time, but as an older fellow I can now respect him for what he was.

There were three or four QBs you identified with in the 70s and Stabler was one of them RIP Snake.

I thought I was on a raiders forum for a minute. Stabler was a crazy dude. I'm too young to have watched him but I've seen some NFL films footage. RIP.

A great QB, sad loss...

I think he was the next great QB to come out of Alabama after Joe Willie Namath. RIP Ken Stabler.

The snake epitomized what it was to be an Oakland Raider..Man, I must be getting old..Yet another guy I grew up watching going down..RIP brother!

i know his career stats now (diff era and all) may not compare, this guy should be in the hof. shouldnt have to get this guy that honor after hes gone.

RIP - Kenny Stabler. Agreed, I'm at that stage of life where I'm starting to lose more people from my sports memories and my personal life. Sobering fact of life is nobody gets out of this alive. The Snake was one of the most resourceful and clutch players leading those tough Raider teams.
