porzingis is going to be a very good player. grant will be adequate but i am not certain he is an nba-level athlete. travis wear is way too methodical, like he's thinking too much. he needs to get quicker and tougher. thanasis looks like a short guy with long arms and not much skill. ledo looks like an inefficient scorer. early looked terrible.
i was impressed with kyle anderson on the spurs.

Ledo looks like an inefficient scorer? That is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. Attacking the rim is an inefficient way of scoring? Getting to the line? Wow. Early struggled on defense, but you can't say overall he was terrible.

there was not much of an organized triangle offense that i could see... looked like they did a lot of a high weave/high pick and roll out there... but my impression is that ledo is a playground player who might not become a triangle player. attacking the rim one on one may not be the most critical aspect of the triangle offense anyway. important skill to possess but my preference is to see some semblance of teamwork. only initial impressions mind you.

At certain times in the shot clock or end of quarters....u need 1 on 1 players. There was time when they had the triangle covered and fisher yelled at early saying that was your time to create. Ledo is a little wild and play ground herky jerky.....but you need that weapon off the bench. We dont have enough players that can score easy. And they definitely ran the triangle....remember the triangle is jusy a formation or structure. You can run back door cuts or high pick and rolls. I saw both.
Early woke up later and hit some shots.....he still doesnt look like hes ready for major minutes....but we may have no choice. Im worried about our bench defense...which is where Lance comes in. Early and Ledo are the one on one guys who creates something from nothing. Overall it was a great 1st game for everybody. I would like to see a twin tower lineup. I think KP and Rolo will provide much needed rim protection without crowding the paint on offense for melo to create.

Early played well..He was the best, most polished Knick..Ledo was ok, he didn't get the touches and he certainly wasn't inefficient..Everyone was jumping for joy on the Grant for TimJr trade but Knicks might regret that one..
The impressive Spur was Simmons..

Sorry, you are right, I shouldn't have been so harsh. For me, it looked like they were running the main plays of the triangle, which included when the PF flashed to the top of the key and then the the guard would give it to him then look to recive it back in a hand off, they ran the high-low( very happy to see), and then they pretty much just ran pick and rolls and back door passes. Ledo is definitely a scorer, but he also has pretty good passing ability and his assists tally showed it. His decision making was questionable at times, but that is something to expect of a young bucket like Ledo.

Knick fans have zero patients when it comes to draft picks..It's like they have to see them in another uniform before they appreciate their talents..
The low IQ chucker will fit in well with what Atlanta is doing..

...who is an NBA-level athlete??!!
Grant was clearly tight...
Early looked terrible??
Tough to judge Ledo on 12 minutes.
TPercy@ 7/12/2015 12:05 AM
@Walt, stupid question, but by tight do you mean tightness in a muscle or..?
CrushAlot@ 7/12/2015 12:40 AM
Watching the game for the first time right now and I think Ndour brings more than Thanasis.

TPercy wrote:@Walt, stupid question, but by tight do you mean tightness in a muscle or..?
Seemed a bit tense...he was clearly not loose and playing within his comfort zone. Might be able to say the same about Wear, or maybe Thanasis.
I expected that to be the case for KP, who I thought might be a little uptight this game. He actually surprised me in this respect.
GustavBahler@ 7/12/2015 12:52 AM
Just finished watching on the DVR. Porzingis looked good. For someone his height and wingspan, he's got fast feet. He can take long strides, but he also has these small quick steps, like that of someone half his size. Grant looked good as well, he was very decisive, which is great to see so soon. Galloway was really forcing it at times.

There might be an adjustment period for Grant but he got to the line a lot tonight and made his free throws. Of the guys on the bubble, I thought Ledo looked a guy that could develop into a really good player. Ndour to me looked a lot better than Thanasis. Wear was solid. I am not sure if Thanasis is an nba player. Hopefully for him it was a bad first game. The French kid doesn't look like he is ready either.

PG is the toughest position to learn at the NBA level. The decision making is much faster than in college and the windows are smaller to make passes. It's just not something you wanna rush to judgment on when it comes to rookies. Jerian will be fine. You can see the talent is there. Gotta give him a chance to get acclimated to the system and his teammates as well as shaking out the jitters and brain freezes that come with being a rookie.
Ledo i'm not worried about. Dude has NBA talent and just needs to continue to develop. Rare to find a guy his size that can do what he does with the ball attacking and passing. Once he learns how to pace himself he's gonna be a good one.
Early playing with more confidence is a good thing. He kind of lost focus but he can't forget about the defensive side of the ball. He also needs to learn how to pace himself. This could all just be opening game jitters so i'm not gonna worry too much about how guys looked.
KP has some serious potential. He isn't even close to realizing all the talent he has. It's gonna be fun watching him progress.

NO but something you might want to consider is subscribing to ballstreams. You can watch all previously played games there on demand in addition to watching games live. It is a lot like seasons pass but you pay for a period of time rather than a season. I believe you can get a six month subscription for $59.00. You can freeze your subscription so that you don't use your months over the summer. I live outside of Rochester but my cable package doesn't offer msg2 and the Knicks are blacked out whenever the Sabres play. I used to stream those games but read a lot about ballstreams and decided to get it. League pass wouldn't work anyway because I am in the Knicks market. I have been very pleased with ballstreams. I use a roku to watch games. You can choose home or away feed and all games are available to you regardless of your location. There is a lot of info about ballstreams. There is a great thread on clutchfans that convinced me to get it. I think if you google it it will come up.
