Knicks · Ndour should be signed like Wear was last year (page 2)

I think that we may be stuck with loving lance thomas and sweet lou instead.

fitzfarm wrote:We should at least offer him what we can ... This kid has talent, first rd talent he reminds me of a really tall sprewell nice step back move. And you can't go wrong with versatility Ndour can play the 3,4,5.. Is he a project? yes most rookies are but with his upside, scoring, and blocking ability Ndour could make his way into the rotation. Ndour has the ability he could become a part of the future.
Now that's an interesting comparison. Hmmmm their energy and intensity are very similar. Now I know why I liked this kid from day 1. I am a HUGE spreewell fan.

Played at Ohio, not Ohio State Overlooked
Not even graded on draft sites

That's what I liked- he did the same thing in two interviews.
Really (assuming we keep Ledo) we need a guard (preferably one who can penetrate and handle limited pg duties) and a C. NDour is a PF, but I'm wondering if we should just take him rather than a less talented C stiff.
A lot of teams play small, I really like what I've seen so far. I would hate to give him away and have him end up being a rotation player somewhere

BRIGGS wrote:Yep 0 way Id let him leave even with a verbal commitment to come back. Building chemistry is as important as anything. I like all the things he can do
A. At 6-9 with those long arms he is a disruptive help defender B. We play the triangle and he has a gorgeous release in the mid range with full range out to 3. C. We saw him make some nice passes and its always good to have a willing passer D Easily can be described as an inside out player which in the NBA is imperative quite diverse E. He can handle the ball up court F His physical profile is unique. Its almost like finding a new age Michael Cooper or something like that. Evene with a verbal I dont want to chance another team using cap space over us--we can control him for 4 years using 1.4mm
Thats my take with him---A 4 year contract at the min first 1.5 years guaranteed the 2nd 2 team options--that 1.4mm a spit in the nBA.
Please keep him.
I can't believe how sweet that midrange jumper looks , wasn't expecting that.

Sign him up.
I would sign Ndour and make one last play to offer Shved the room exception. If Shved says no, we need another guard. I don't trust Ledo to play any kind of minutes.
Why? he has the ability, he is still learning
And against one of the more solid backcourts in nba (wall and beal) he put on a show last year
I don't mind keeping him on the roster as he learns. I agree he's got talent. But right now if Calderon goes down with injury Jerian Grant is our only PG. Galloway is not a PG - he's a very good defender and basically an undersized SG.
I would offer the room to Shved one last time
We never offered Shved the room we only offered him the vet min and so didn't a couple of other teams and he turned down all of them but his agent said he was wanting us to offer him the room and he would of accepted it.

Let me start with i really love what i've seen from Ndour as much as any of you but does anyone think that after 3 games in SL that we might be jumping the gun on him some?? A lot of guys that go undrafted get on a team and put on a show in SL and never end up on a NBA roster. I'm only saying this cause some on here are already comparing him to players that had long great careers and he's only played 3 games and they were in the SL. Like i said i'm a big fan of the kid and love what i've seen and i have absolutely no idea how he'll be in the NBA just like anyone else even though from what i've seen i'd say he's a keeper for sure and i hope we find a way to get him on the roster. I'm very excited to see what he does in these SL playoffs which our first game i think is tomorrow at 4:30.

Ndour can possibly take Lou Amundson's spot if he is invited and outplays him. Or maybe if Knicks decide to play small ball they can move Lou to the Center position and have Ndour as a 3rd string power forward

Yes, we might be jumping the gun. He was not an unknown, he played four years in college, 2 at Monroe College then two at Ohio. His play at Portsmouth didnt draw any raves. He also went to pre draft workouts and did all the tests but he was not drafted in 2 rounds and very few kids fall thru the cracks of evaluators. He is light for the position he is best suited for. There are also young players having great SL like the kid the other day who hit six straight three pointers agaisnt us who will not be considered NBA spots despite their success. Having said all that, Dnour has some good traits that could translate to NBA , speed, quick hops, motor, outside shot . Think Jax will invite him to camp with smallest of guarantees and they will go from there

NDour is like Renaldo Balkman with a brain and a jumpshot

Good post but i just hope you didn't miss that i do love the kid and hope we find a way to bring him in i just think people are going a little crazy over 3 SL games.

A mix of spree and ibaka, how can this kid not make the team he really would fill out the roster
haven't seen enough of him but he seems like a poor man's Faried... sign him

This is exactly what i was talking about with this post. It's just SL people and we can't just say we want the Knicks to add players that play good in a couple of SL games to the roster when those last couple of spots need to be used correctly. I still like the kid but would rather get him after he plays a season in the euro leagues.

This does not sound too promising for folks like myself who would really like to see Ndour on the Knicks. Comes from Berman:
The future of undrafted 6-foot-9 power forward Maurice Ndour (9.6 points per game, 51.1 percent shooting, 4.8 rebounds) of Ohio University is unclear. The Senegal native, who played Japanese high school basketball, impressed with his energy and mid-range shot, but Fisher indicated his camp invite could come with another team that affords more opportunity. “Maurice was solid, he brought energy and activity to our game,’’ Fisher said. “He showed ability to shoot fairly well and defend, block shots, rebound. He represented himself well. We may not be able to keep him. Our roster’s filling up pretty fast.’’
Would be a shame if we did not even invite him to camp.

Maybe a trade needs to happen like last year for Wear.

^^^^Also makes me wonder if Thanasis has a promise after putting in a year at Westchester.
