JR is a dummy. What else is new? He was all high and mighty posting pics dissing the Knicks because the Cavs were winning at the time. Karma is a b!tch. I guess the Cavs caught on why phil let him go and probably laughing their asses off that he opted out of his contract. He should've opted in for next season to prove to everyone that he deserves to get paid on a contract year when the cap increases next summer.
Where does Jr Smith line himself up in dumbest NBA players of all time?
As long as he doesn't resign here. I wouldn't want him even at get min. And I said the same thing before the Knicks gaves him $5mil per. We bidder against ourselves. No one showed interest except maybe Milwaukee. I'm sure they would've never gave him $5+ mil coming off that pathetic showing in the playoffs

Had his best season with Kidd on the team...maybe Milwaukee throws him a bone.
Hard to believe that Smith didn't have at least a hint of a promise that he would be resigned or have a market for his services
before he made his opt-out decision.
Does he still have an agent at this time"
Either he had dumped his agent before making the decision (against his agent's wishes), or dumped him after the decision (because his agent had urged him to opt-out).
Might be time for another ride on the China Express.

umm.. he burned that bridge already, only Europe left... or other Asian teams besides China

Portland and Dallas still have a chunk of money left. Not saying they'd give Smith a sizable deal, just that he will find a home in the NBA at some point.
My bet is the Clippers honestly. They still need wing help (Pierce really operates best now as a small ball PF) and he's a better shooter than Born Ready and Josh Smith.
Guy can still play the NBA wing, just not with high IQ and not with consistency. Sometimes you just need a warm body and JR Smith can fit the bill.
Also have the Cavs resigned Tristan Thompson yet? My thinking is they want to hammer that out first, then see where/if JR fits.

I think he over ruled his agent- seem to remember JR said he was opting out, his agent saying not so fast, then him opting out. His agent did need to step up and stop him- it made no sense to opt out now, especially with the cap exploding next season.
This tweet should actually be a case study of why much of social media should be ignored...Its not news, it's one dude behind a keyboard...Tristan Thomspson and JR aren't signed, neither is Della...LeBron says he wants JR and Thompson back..JR gets attention so let's post to get reaction..

The guy has so much talent but he's just such a dumb*** and does stupid crap.
He 'll likely sign for less thanks to yet another postseason disappearing act. He's the perfect blend of imbecile and asshole.

Go ahead and make a prediction on how much for how long and with whom.

He is going back to Cleveland..It depends on who else Cleveland adds and how much they are willing to pay in luxury taxes..
Dellavadova and Thompson were more valuable. Smith is going to get crumbs, and deservedly so.

I don't think Marks tweeted about JR for attention. I think he is a pretty solid guy. I do think JR ends up back in Cleveland because they really need him. I don't think he gets much of a raise though. I think he might get two years 13 mil.
Too bad we traded him for nothing

He would have schlepped thru the season and won us 4-5 more games. Still remember this a**hole coming out in Cleveland with that remark about how well he was doing because he was now going to practice and not hanging out. A real winner that one
he needed to be gotten rid of, ASAP!

Another man's what now?
Dude is just not wrapped too tight but to say that in this generation you are a hater and just jealous that you aren't them. Welp

He'll be 30 in a couple of months. Given his game won't age well ( he's not a high BB IQ player by any stretch) , taking less per year across more years might end up working out for him. He opted out at 6.4, but if he got something like a 3 years for 15 million, under the going rate for NBA starting wings, but locked him in when who can say what would happen after this season, I don't see that as a total loss for him and his agent.
I still think he's a complete risk for going rogue, signing a minimum deal with the Clippers and chase a ring. Also it might suit his not so subtle gang ties and he can gas it with the Fast And Furious crowd down there.
Remember Hubert Davis? Good soldier. Kept his mouth shut. Worked hard. Never gave up, never stop trying, never relented. Just not a whole ton of talent. Imagine Davis if he had JR Smith's physical skill set across life.
The tragedy is JR Smith will have to look back on his player career with regret with what he could have been. The humor of course is that part where he might not be bright enough to realize he should have regret.
