Free agent Quincy Acy has agreed to a two-year deal with the Sacramento Kings, according to RealGM.

Acy played 56 games with the Kings in the 2013-14 season after being traded from the Raptors. He averaged 2.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 14 minutes per game. From Shams Charania of RealGM:

"Acy’s deal to return to the Kings includes a player option on the second season. A three-year NBA veteran, Acy averaged 5.9 points and 4.4 rebounds for the New York Knicks a year ago. He’ll give Sacramento additional floor-spacing and depth in the frontcourt."

So that makes every player we had on the team(except JR and Daly) last yr, manage to sign new deals.

Just goes to show you, we did have serviceable guys in the wrong roles, and a coach who could never define ones role.

Right, so if you have a team made up of players who can get an end of the bench contract the following season, then it proves you should win more than 17 games? What is it with all the stupid threads lately!

Kings had money to burn and nothing about their moves this offseason really are that impressive. Seems like a really dysfunctional organization and not sure Acy is anything other than trying to do anything when the market is so dry of anything left besides UDFA hopes.

That Sauce Castillo trade was brutal. I mean brutal.

I didn't think I could feel worse for King's fans other than seeing Stern job that entire city to make sure Wade was a superstar ( Loved how Stern made sure Wade shot like 80 free throws a game in that Finals) , but that last trade was close. I mean that was a soul gutting type trade.

it's a good thing I have a sense of humor, cause damn near ever signing in the league has started a thread on these boards and Acy can't get a litte love...smh

yeah, that's it... people just dont like acy. it has NOTHING to do with your incessant remarks about how bad of a coach fisher is. nothing at all.

It is a league minimum deal.

Quite happy when we picked Acy up last year...quite indifferent that we let him go.

Not the rebounder I thought he could be, but more surprisingly, he was not the defender I thought he was.

Very spotty as a defender, and definitely not as quick laterally as I thought he was.

I was actually more please with his outside shooting, which was not bad at times.

Hope he does well with the Kings, a team that might end up being a beat reporter's dream assignment, given the team's dynamics and the personalities involved.

If the point was to notify everyone that Acy got signed, then I understand the thread. However, the idea that Acy signing a deal means that we had quality players last year is just not good logic. Once Melo got hurt, we essentially a d league team. Acy was decent, but he was a end of the bench type player. You cannot win in the NBA with a team consisting of end of the bench type players.

I really wonder if we offered a 2year vet min to AB, with him saying he never wanted to leave New York
Also, we offered only vet min to Shved, if Shved would have taken the room exemption or a contract at 3m (which was less than what AB/Lance Thomas made together)
They are both not worth more than the vet min or a guaranteed roster spot on any other team, signing both of them when we already targeted less talented players for HIGH CHARACTER players with the 30m we spent on FA already is worthless
We NEED TALENT that will be part of our roster moving forward

I will never get over the fact that we wasted both roster spots and 3m in cap space for 2 players that are both 15th man type talent
Using the roster spots to develop players that could be steals would be much more effective like N Dour and all these VET MIN signings like Josh Smith, Wesley Johnson/ Gereld Green, and even Aminu
Those players might not sign a vet min to go to NYK's but what about a multiyear deal at 2-3m?

There are still UFAs such as Dorrell Wright, Seraphin, Andray Blatche/Larry Sanders, Jeremy Tyler, Justin Hamilton, or VETS Reggie Evans/Boozer/Jermaine Oneil, or D League talents
I personally think Jeff Taylor would be a solid signing at G/F, to play the lead guard role with Calderon/Galloway *which lack the speed/quickness to penetrate consistently and defend PG's*

Rather than wasting time to continue to develop his lack of ball handling and quickness to play SG, look to move Early for a 2nd round pick or another player such as

1- James Johnson (who would be an upgrade over Lance Thomas), Troy Daniels (expiring who is a sniper with quickness to penetrate like a young Mo Williams)

2- Dorrell Wright in a sign and trade on a vet min type deal for 2-3 seasons (with team option on 3rd)

3- Eric Green

I like Ognjen Kuzmic, however, he is a RFA, and I think GS will match unless it is higher than the 2.8m we have left, probably at least 4-5m on a multiyear deal

Rather than signing Robin Lopez rather save the money with players such as, with some of them still available, while targeting Whiteside next summer to pair with KP
I surely would not mind trading him with many players on our roster to accumulate assets/draft picks, especially with next years FA and Centers available

Despite missing Wesley Matthews, Robin Lopez was still the worst player on Portland and his production was replaced my much lesser talents at cheaper costs
Portland was able to replace him with Meyers Leanard, Chris Kaman, and Joel Freeland

With Boston having so many PG/SG's

Wonder if they would send us Evan Turner with Early and Lance Thomas, when we are eligible to trade LT

I mean that was a no brainer, every player we had was well over his head, even with CA out, we win maybe 7 or 8 more games.
