What does this even mean for win projections? Demarcus Cousins has been the best all around center in the Pacific division for a few years already and they won 29 games only.
Very poor argument. dk7th's absolutely right, Melo is a zero sum player. Doesn't bring it when you need it.
This.
Blunt and brutally yet beautifully honest
Too bad I wasn't able to get the pic of the no call later in that same quarter on Hibbert when he punched Melo in the face on a dunk attempt. Woulda been a possible flagrant for some other players in the league. The selective memory in here and hatred for the team's best player is ridiculous.
Selective excuse making.
Just call a spade a spade, it'll help your Knick fandom in the long run.
Root for KP and Jerian instead to grow into true stars, not this fake one way playing 3rd tier star.
I root for the team even players I dislike such as Amare when he was here. That's being a fan. You rooting against their best player is strange honestly. You are the one who needs help being a fan. I wish you all the best with your sanity and internet trolling.
There's a difference between rooting for the team, and being critical of players that deserve it.
I'm guessing you were clapping and cheering when Melo got rejected by Hibbert's game changing block? Awesome effort Melo! Get them next time!
Difference with being a homer cheerleader and a fan that sees things clearly for what they are.
chandler was wide open. pierce would see that and make a little pocket bounce pass.
your best and highest-paid player should be able to elevate his own game and make plays for others in the playoffs. take a look at melo's numbers that postseason-- they suck. absurdly high usage and low assist rate = making others worse. ts% around 50% = inefficient scoring. guess what melo you're paid to score why don't you EVER do it efficiently?!? 19 assists and 31 turnovers in 12 games .63 assists per game and 2.6 turnovers. when you get repeatedly exploited by having your weaknesses amplified it's an embarrassment. and gee i thought melo is supposed to be the best player in both series that year, but yeah ok chandler was outplayed by the dude who stuffed melo's shit.
The second best player on the Knicks in that series was probably Felton. Felton is the third string point guard on most teams. Woodson was trashed for not playing Cope more. Cope is the 9th guy in an 8 man rotation. Who on that team that was still able to go on the court could have their play elevated enough to win that series.

Nobody. Melo was not gonna pass the ball so who cares who is on the court.

If you are going to tell the story then tell the whole story not just part of it..You are always so concerned about players characters when you never fail to show weakness in your own character..Woodson's agent was LB's agent, I need not say anymore if you are a Knick fan who knows the history..
Woodson has outperformed every Knick coach over the last decade..I am results oriented..I don't hold a phantom measuring stick..Its simple for me, victories..Woodson took over a dismal job MDA was doing and led an improbable team to the playoffs..He won more games in half a season than Fisher won in an entire season...You predicted the Knicks could be a seventh seed and they came in as the second seed..The then lost to the second best team in the conference, in the second round..But you displayed some phony outrage that a Woodson coached team couldn't beat the second best team in the conference..Where is your integrity?..How do you muster the courage to talk about character??

Who on that team that was still able to go on the court could have their play elevated enough to win that series.let's see:
1)woodson is a horrible coach
2)chandler was severely outplayed
3)felton is not a starter
4)carmelo is at worst an innocent victim or a noble heroImagine this, you personal projection on the Knicks best outcome two years from now equates to Woodson's worst season here..You stated the Knicks would be on track if the win 38-42 games 2016-17 and some how Woodson was a bad coach..
first of all if he was a good coach he would be a head coach somewhere. but no, he is assisting doc rivers last i checked. second of all, just as there are jayvee regular season superstar players there are also jayvee regular season coaches.
woodson is a jayvee regular season coach. he has shown he can be easily outcoached in the varsity season and i am sure he won't get another head coaching gig-- he has been exposed. that's the reality. the first inkling of my grave doubts of his abilities was his not fully endorsing and embracing jeremy lin as a starter-- in the face of all common sense. but then again, when you have been forced to whore yourself in order to get a gig, you are working from a position of compromise. as you will recall, he was forced by dolan to fire his agent and sign up with caa. not only is he incompetent but he whored himself in order to get the knicks coaching gig. shame shame shame
People of low character make up stuff to hang their hats on..Melo doesn't crouch on defense was a lie..Woodson not embracing Lin is another lie..Lin was out most of the 24 games Woodson coached..Lin didn't want to play in the playoffs because it might hurt his upcoming contract negotiations...Just imagine if Melo pulled that stunt..But Lin, a player of "high character" to many here, dodged the chance to play saying he was on 85 percent of the "minimum" required to play..Can't go to battle with people like that..Hornets are his 4th team since, ball don't lie..Yet JR gets ridiculed for playing with a blown out knee in the playoffs...

as soon as d'antoni resigned it was no longer lin's team.
dk7th wrote:I am not going to address who's team it was but the Knicks had lost 6 straight, 8-10 and had what should have been one of the best frontlines in the league. Woodson took over and won. U notice the theme??..Its not about winning with u but who is wearing the uniform or who is on the sidelines..Wins and losses are a mere byproduct of rooting for individuals in the uniform..
It's was never Lin's team..Linsanity was media hype and u bought it, amazing..
The guy who thinks Gallinari will be a star after 10 shyt seasons.
Yea, you're getting called out little boy.

This is all true I don't know what the problem is
The same guy that had no idea how to run an offense? The same guy that doesn't know how to phucking guard a switch?
I mean he had a few winning seasons in ATL and a season and a half of good here in NY, but no team was recruiting or knocking at his door when he became a free agent again.

And what is your assessment based on?? It's certainly not based on wins?..Knick fans are so smart that they forget what really matters, wins..They were all caught up in the switching defense all year anf forgot that a coach was getting the best out of his players, actually winning games and getting past the first round..Phil comes in a sells you Fisher and a 17 win year and you are eating it up...Truly amazing..
