Exactly what I'm afraid of. It's beyond narrow-minded thinking on Phil's part if this is true, which I think it is. 
To me, for the most part, you go get good players, the best available, and teach them this friggin' system. You don't eliminate every good player out there just because you suspect they may not be able to handle the triangle and then resort to talking to players you had at one point in the past as a coach that are now retired. Sorry but I've got a problem with that...We've passed on Mike James and Elliot Williams and are talking to Sasha Vujacic??? Huh???
I also agree with Crush and whoever else that thinks they may be holding out to see who may shake loose from other teams. I believe it--I think that's part of the approach right now. I just don't care for it at all...We still need key components to this team -- another backup PG, a primary backup SG, a backup C...That's how you handle this situation, Phil--by sitting on your hands, waiting to see who might get waived?? I don't care for that approach either..
And lastly, something about waiving a guy like Ledo so you don't have to pay him his full guaranteed amount, only to resign him later at a reduced amount -- I dunno man, I believe in cap management just as much as the next guy, but to do that to these low-level players like that?? Kinda bush league if you ask me. Phil did this recently too with another player, forgot with who...Ledo didn't earn the modest amount of guaranteed money he was set to receive? I think he did. I mean how do you explain to this kid with a straight face that you're waiving him, taking a modest amount of money out of his pocket, and then want him back on a TC contract where he's gotta fight for a roster spot no less?? I know Phil's playing by the rules and I know it's cap mgmt. 101 but still man--something about that is weird--that's gotta be a very weird conversation to have with a player. If I'm Ledo, I tell Phil to go fuck himself and I sign with the first team that offers me a contract. I wouldn't come back here under those conditions. It's kind of a slap in the face and it further demonstrates the lowball mentality Phil has with players. If that's the approach, I kinda want to know what the plan is now. We freed up Ledo's modest guaranteed money to get who exactly?? If it's no one in particular and we did it just to do it--it doesn't feel right.

The thing is, everybody is doing the same thing. And out of all the guys being released, Ledo is not the top guy. So Phil has a chance to add another key guy, and / or bring back Ledo at a price that fits the financial plan. Ledo is a decent player, but thats in pickup games at rucker park. Ledo is still trying to learn how to play system team ball, and not be so erratic or turnover prone.

I think Phil would tell you that being able to play in the Triangle takes certain basketball skills that any well rounded player has.
They gave Ledo a pretty good opportunity to emerge as a keeper, and he did not show enough.
Seems to be a kind of Ledo cult on UK that sees him as being much better that what he has actually shown on the court. He has a good back story, and I hope he succeeds, but he had his chance here and the Knicks did work with him. Showed some flashes, but not enough to make me regret that we altered our connection with him.
His SL performance and the minutes Fisher gave him told me that he was a goner.
Maybe they sign him to a training camp contract...depends on what else is out there.
Let him play in Westchester- fine, but I think it would be better for him if he played overseas for a year.
No offensive game or polish, but if he can hit that open 3 at like a 35% clip, might be worth it. It's a 3 and D league, baby! All the hot teams or doin' it! All about defending multiple positions and hitting that open 3. Golden State are full of them. Green, Barnes, Thompson, Iguodala. San An got Kawhi. Chi has Jimmy Buckets.
Someone just have a trainer forcefeed him 1000 jumpers a day.

You don't even need that much. 100 jumpers a day was my goal. He can develop a consistent jumper if he puts in the work. I think he can be a great weapon to have.

You don't even need that much. 100 jumpers a day was my goal. He can develop a consistent jumper if he puts in the work. I think he can be a great weapon to have.
Lets compromise and go with 500, then.
