Have a passion for basketball and an interest in data. Or a passion for data and an interest in basketball? Have a metric you think moves the conversation forward and deserves broader recognition? Enjoy writing about the game from both a quantitative and qualitative perspective? The Nylon Calculus is gearing up to make our second full season even better than the first. To that end, we’re looking to add writers, and accepting freelance pitches.

Please direct interest or inquiries to TheNylonCalculus at Gmail dot Com or find us on Twitter or on FaceBook. Submissions will preferably include either samples of work-in-progress or existing analytics-based writing you have done previously. Formal statistics training or coding experience is NOT a requirement – if the analysis is good, so are you. Knowledge of and desire to write about WNBA, NBDL, NCAA or FIBA play from a statistical perspective welcomed and in fact encouraged, as are crossovers from other sports.

Thanks in advance and we’re eager to hear from you.

Apparently the Mavs hired a couple of their writers.
