Thank God!
I was scared to death he'd actually start the season as the Jets QB.
I actually was looking forward to the 1st preseason game. I think Geno was going to be better this year. In any event it was good that we have some QB talent behind him in Fitz and even Petty. Petty isn't close to ready but this could help him to get more reps, which is a good thing. In terms of Geno, he's a more talented player than Fitz and if he was able to put things together as he was looking like he did, then he has a lot of upside.
This is the best thing that could've happened to the Jets. First miracle we've been sent in awhile.
Fitzmagic will galvanize the fan base around him, as well as, the team. Obviously if one your teammates wants to sucker punch you, means you're an a%shole scumbag. Geno probably had it coming.
Once again, this is only a positive thing. We move on from the Geno era finally, and everyone's on the same page.
Thanks IK Enemkpali!

That's twisted! The reason they had Geno starting is cuz he has way more talent than Fitz. He's got a stronger and more accurate arm and he can run. Fitz can't do those things and he's also had issues with turnovers. I hope he plays great but let's not hold Fitz out to be some major upgrade over Geno. If he was clearly head and shoulders better he'd have been ahead of Geno by now. So far in camp he's been about the same as Geno. Still he at least knows the system and is capable.
The real positive is that this may give more meaningful reps to Petty. It's not about Fitz but how this can help Petty to improve faster.

Fitz will be a game manager with our 500 running backs on our depth chart.
Occasional throw to BMarsh and Decker. Run, Run, slant to Kerley, Run, occasional deep throw to Devin Smith, Run, Run, out to Jace.
You get the picture. Without a franchise QB on the roster, this is how they'd play no matter who's playing QB.
Defense first, run first. Geno proven you can't pull the reins off him with more throwing chances.
Going to be the same formula with Fitzpatrick back there now. Game manager fits his role perfectly.

I'm pretty sure the guy with the broken jaw or the guy who lost his job could find something negative if they search hard enough.

Geno was a rookie who should never have been put in the situation he was in. He needed time to be able to develop. Rex is a horrible coach to be developed a QB under and the team was always very low on offensive talent. This is the best talent we've had since Geno was drafted and I think he was gong to show a lot of progress as a QB. You can't go off those 1st 2 years and assume that he wasn't going to be able to grow. The last 4 games last year Geno was making progress and he came into this camp and continued to show the same level of play from late last year.
The Reason Chan Gailey was so high on Geno is cuz he saw the talent and if that wasn't the case he wouldn't have been so positive about Geno. I think it's easy to pick at Geno cuz he wasn't the Andrew Luck or Russell Wilson type of instant success. Those guys are rare. Geno needed time and he never had that proper development time. He had to do it on the field but now I think he was starting to really come into his own.
jets fans are a sorry lot
Sunday I had my fantasy draft and named my team "Geno 911." The team photo is Geno picking himself off the turf. I look like Nostradamus

Doesn't matter now. Geno smith era is over.
Rally around Fitzmagic!

Thank god I'm a Giants fan.
My thing is that Geno has looked very good in camp and was coming off a very good close to last season. Mike Westoff just said that he hasn't been impressed with Fitz and that Geno has deserved the starting job from everything he's seen at practice. He said Fitz wasn't even close to Geno in that regard. He said he saw one practice where it was windy and that Fitz couldn't throw the ball to the other side of the field. No zip or power on his throws. People just like to hate on Geno but he's a young and talented player that was starting to put it together.

Fuccking idiot
Who? IK Enemkpali?
That stupid bastard might've saved the Jets season.
Bottom line, Geno 100000% deserved it.

Welch on a gambling debt and piss or dismiss a guy in his face, you will get sucker punched 12 times out of 10.
Geno is a born loser. Period.

As a bills fan I can tell you that Fitz has a terrible arm, bad accuracy and is a pick machine.
