dude is a BOSS. can't wait for the season to start. #STAY7ATVIAN
Glad that whatever he said/she said is dunzo, and some "camaraderie" seems to be forming between Me7o and Kporzee.
Cannot wait to see Latvian Legend just lighting shyt up. If he has a peak AK47 type stat filler season, could see him garner some ROY votes.
Not Pau, not Dirk.
Just a positionless...BALLER. Not a 4 or 5. Just an absolute matchup nightmare basketball player, that happens to be 7'3 with shoes. ![]()
I can't wait to see this guys progession year by year...he has superstar written all over him.

A 45 year old who never had any ability to even come close to the nBA could hit 3's like that--slow pace no interference. We drafted a 7-3 guy to shoot 30 feet from the basket? I was hoping we drafted him to be our C for the next 15 years. Learn how to to use to the post--forget about this junk--and this shot is complete junk for him. It would be EASY to make him alter it even at his size by using speed. In the high to low post is where the bread and butter is not this crp.

10 years ago I would have agreed with you... But like another guy posted I don't see dirk or gasol
I too see more of a Durant type match up nightmare ..
The three is very important in today's nba. Esp if he can drag big men out of the paint and let our guards penetrate ... Kp has a incredible first step as well blow past his defender. And like Durant Kp will make a living at the line with his frame it's easy for the refs to see if he is touched and altered by his defender... This is what he is right now at 19 ...
Let him develop a interior game with time but don't try to fix something that an't broke, the kid can stroke it so let him stroke it... The fact that he has a deadly shot will open up a post game in the future.
In terms of defense I see a beast of a c/pf protecting the paint, blocking shots at will at 7'3. Kp and rolo upfront its going to be very hard for teams to get inside..
I see Kp as our pf for the first 4 years and when rolo' contract is up Kp will be our starting center and at that time he will have developed a inside/out post game ...
But for now let the 7'3 monster stroke it!

If someone tries to "alter" that shot then Porzi goes to the freethrow line for 3 shots or is taking 1 shot to complete the 4 point play.

He's not Durant in anyway. How many 3s do you think Pau Gasol took his first 5 years. Answer 0 We don't want to make porzingis a guy w/o shoot 3s we want him making 60% of his interior shots and making it easy for others to shoot from th outside. Why aren't the knicks working him with a quality big man coach?

If I was an opposing coach an I saw this guy going hanging out at the 3 point line I d play 3 guards and kill the knicks in transition. A quick 6-2 guard with a strong base might not even let kp catch th ball

PLEASE!!! The Kid is built for the perimeter and in at this point. Let him be what he is. He can post a little and as he gets stronger he'll do it more. For now he can move and catch and shoot and he's gonna mostly be open on those kind of plays in this offense. In the Triangle there are prescribed Down Screens set for the PF to get open and catch and shoot. KP6 should kill on that play. Also out of the Pinch Post he can get a ton of face up jumpers or drive on his man and draw fouls.
KP6 is gonna get the same kind of looks that Jason Smith got.

LOL. somehow i think a 7'3 dude with arms for days is going to be able to get the ball while being defended by a 6'2 G. please. i don't even know what this means. Dirk averaged 1.5 3's per game as a rookie and has averaged a bit over 3 for his career. i'd expect the same from KP. he's not going to live at the 3 point line (especially since the knicks will play him at the 4 and the 5), but why bemoan the guy because he has a nice stroke? bizarre.
BigSm00th wrote:it's easy strategy.if the knicks let porzingis be a 3 pt shooter it makes him small. Another team can counter by making the Knicks play faster. Trust me BRIGGS if your not a stretch big, you wont see a lot of minutes in today's NBA. You can count on one hand the amount of effective post up BIGs in the league, and while i agree that shooting 3's in a empty gym is not head turning, the form and release for a guy his height is quite impressive.

I just freaking showed you what the Knicks will be doing with KP6. He's a PF and will be doing a lot of what Jason Smith was asked to do. A few 3's a game isn't going to be a detriment but a plus. He's not going to be asked to camp out behind the 3pt line because that's not part of the offense. He'll be in the Pinch Post, Triangle Post and he'll be moving around in the offense setting Drag Screens, PnP, making V Cuts, Receiving Down Screens so he can flash to the Elbow. Generally mixing it up. There's no need to panic about him shooting some 3's.
Just shooting drills in an empty gym, what's the issue? The more versatility the better.

I'D rather have him focus on playing the game like a Kareem a mchale at his size. He does have great touch an it should b primarily used from 12 feet and in.. I wouldn't let him shoot 3s other than finishing practice shots. I'd make sure he'd watch tapes on Ewing mchale gasol even jabbar and see if he can grab a little of each o f their gmaes
Also nixluva not necessary to be obnoxious in response. It's in kp best interests to develop him like a big. There are few high skill big s in the league-- we have 1 don't want him to develop like baths or even worse Jason smith

You are the really not being balanced in your reaction. They had the kid playing C in SL and he has said he's gonna be working on his post moves. Still he's not going to ignore his shooting from the perimeter. He's likely to be one of the most well rounded players in the league when he's done. The Kid can shoot from anywhere on the floor, Post, Face up and move without the ball, catch and shoot, drive...
Why are you panicking when it's clear as day that in the Triangle the PF is not going to be expected to just stand out there and shoot 3's. That's the reason why I posted the Jason Smith clips. KP6 has more talent than Jason and will be able to do more. The more skills you have the more different things you will be able to do in this offense. This isn't MDA's offense and KP6 isn't Steve Novak.
