Knicks · The NY Knicks aren't ready to engage in trade talks involving Carmelo Anthony, but Zach Lowe reports they're getting closer (page 2)

Melo, KP, Jerian and RoLo should be a very strong core as they develop together. I don't see a better alternative in any of these trades.
True, you don't see it until the kicks are 5-25 with the trade deadline looming.
Not saying that's what happens, but if it does you'll see it differently.
Most prefer to see a team struggle to hit .500, get a playoff seed and change the culture in the right direction!

If I got Morris Booker and our pick back--I would do it. It makes every team better for where they are. Id have Toronto kick in Powell as well.

Cents on the dollar.I've been saying it all year and it's what will likely transpire.
Melo will not waive his NTC to go to a gutted team. A team on the cusp of winning and in what he will think is a "suitable" marketplace will likely be at or near the cap.
Meaning the best the Knicks will do is
1) A draft pick
2) A young player, but likely not of elite pedigree ( there is no Love for Wiggins deal to be had here)
3) A mediocre to bad contract or a couple to get a salary matchBut it will be cents on the dollar. A contender will not gut itself of it's contending core to get Melo and you'll need a whole lot of different type of players to cover for Melo's defensive limitations.
The Wiggins for Love deal was an anomaly ( How many Top 1-2 players come back home after destroying his public image as a mercenary to a team getting the first overall pick?) If you look across NBA Draft and Trade history, esp in the modern era, teams that send off the "star" player tend to do so for cents on the dollar and usually the the team losing the "star" is seen as taking dramatically less value in the time and place.Of course a lot of you don't care, don't want to hear it, or will decide this is another reason to call me a racist/hater.
What most of you are NOT doing is putting yourselves in the shoes of the non Knicks GM and franchises. If the Knicks had the Clippers roster and both situations were mirror-reversed, would you trade for Melo and why? ( They already have a PF, one who is younger and with a higher future ceiling and what are they going to trade? They don't have anything to trade that they can spare)
Sadly, this might end up like the Kobe Bryant situation. Where he wanted a trade, the Lakers explored it, then Chicago seemed possible, but to get him there, they'd have to gut the Bull team, which made them non desirable and Kobe refused to accept/understand that he simply couldn't get EVERYTHING he wanted ( i.e. go to a team that would instantly contend and still get paid like a mega star and not gut the destination team and still have enough of a trade package to satisfy his old team. Instead Kobe stayed around, blamed everyone else for his anger and refusal to play team basketball, sulked and simply became more open about being a worthless selfish jackoff. But at least in this case, if Melo stays, at least unlike Kobe, he's not a rapist.
Not sure why you feel the need to be so antagonistic. Every post you have directed at me has made race an issue. Just not fun having a back and forth with you. If you would condense your posts, leave out the race stuff, you would get a lot less grief on this board, as you have pointed out repeatedly.
Whatever troubles you about race relations in America won't be worked out on a Knicks fan board. I will be happy to respond to your posts when you can keep it to hoops.
the reality is that stars of Anthony's caliber are irreplaceable. As flawed as the Nuggets were with Anthony, they've never fully recovered since trading him. Neither have the Jazz since trading Deron Williams, despite his unfortunate physical demise during his time with the Nets. (I like the Jazz and don't particularly like Williams, but facts are facts. Utah has been to the playoffs once since trading him.)The Raptors have managed two first-round playoff exits since losing Chris Bosh to the Heat. The Cavs didn't recover from losing LeBron James until they signed ... LeBron James.
Superstars in the NBA are irreplaceable. Sometimes, you experience bad luck and lose one in free agency (see the Trail Blazers and LaMarcus Aldridge). But why would you lose one by choice? With the salary cap skyrocketing over the next two years, stars have never been more affordable and valuable than they are right now.

Only derogatory thing he said was about Kobe's rape allegations... Where in his comment do you see anything resembling racism?

Logic is bitch, but someone will find a way to twist your clearly stated points into some pointless anti-Melo rant.
Melo will never be traded by the NY Knicks. His contract will run out.. and guess what. He will resign as well...
Either live with it, move on, or continue to be bitter for another 6 to 7 years.

Thats not what I am suggesting. I have avoided discussions about race with this poster. I dont want to talk about it, even tangentially. I dont want to hear about who is and isnt a racist in a thread about basketball. Not why Im here. I will be happy to talk to Triple Threat when the issue of race in any form is no longer there. Thats all I have to say on this matter. I will leave the 20 page arguments to somebody else.

IMO all this anti Melo chatter will calm down as this team improves and starts winning. Melo is comfortable in NY and IMO the team is improved enough so that he won't likely see another 17 or 37 win season. He's not leaving a team with developing talent like KP and Jerian either. These are the 2 best draft picks we've had in a long time and yet lazy writers are putting out stupid rumors and made up stories. I'm excited for the season as I suspect Melo is as well.

You don't bother to care any more, right? Barely a post goes by where you don't include your own version of racism, Kobe/rapist and ball licking/unprovoked attacks. And in this particular case it's very unprovoked. It's too bad because you have basketball stuff to add and yet you constantly bring the conversation right back to the very topics you hypocritically whine about. Last chance on a long leash, either post only about basketball or stop posting altogether.
Just a rumor mind you, but where there's clickbait, there's speculation

My thanks to Andrew for allowing me to be a guest on his forum and board.I'll say what I've always said, in the end, there are people who might not like what I have to say, but how people act here isn't just a situation about me, it's also about whether this place welcomes new blood or not. The constant mob mentality unleashed on me over and over without any kind of moderator/admin coverage ( I didn't see even one instance of you telling anyone to back the fuck off of me, no matter what I posted, and don't kid yourself, lots of these guys came gunning for me and did so over and over) only discourages new people to not want to post. How much valuable and interesting Knicks discussion and basketball discussion do you think you lose to provide coverage for your old guard who you don't hold to the same standard of playing civil? In that regard, the whole community loses.
You just lost an actual contributor to this community. But you've been gunning for me for a while now. Now you decide it's time to do your job. Great. I'll leave it to everyone else to see how thick you lay that law down on everyone else.
I love the Knicks. Always have. Doesn't mean I have to express that here. Plenty of other places I can talk basketball and Knicks. Good luck to most here. Go Knickerbockers forever.
Goodbye.
The community loses much more with your racist, antagonizing and otherwise dumbfukc comments, Andrew and I have both have plenty of experience with this. And BTW, it's everyone else who I am taking pointers from, and also your comments themselves, nothing more, nothing less. You may want to take a hint when many more than me are telling you such.

Basically the site has done well for over 10 years because there are rules of etiquette.
If you don't agree with them there are other sites that are more relaxed.
The rules here might not suit everyone but it serves the majority and its longevity speaks volumes.
New people usually lurk for a while before participating and can see the tone and pace of what we do. Maybe it discourages some "bad" posters which saves us a lot of time and energy so thats not a bad thing.
Once upon a time Nalod was a bit younger, and was told to "back down" as well. I had a choice, participate in the community as it is or by my actions be asked to leave. It was my choice. Over time I have come to appreciate that when we exchange ideas its best to keep in on the subject. I would think those who want to join us prefer to read basketball exchanges and discussion in proper manner than experience personality clash's and opinion presented as facts.
We are here for entertainment and fun.
The UK community exists today as a good place because it discourages certain activity. It will continue with you if you choose to adhere to the etiquette, or with out you. It really was your choice.

Just saw this.
I've always admired how people who obviously love and value their own opinion more than anything else translate that into "loving the Knicks." Like the two things are inseparable. One less hater. Man, them ranks be thinning out.
Wonder what his new login will be.
wow Nalod, and I thought you've said it was me against the world...

It is amazing that some people take this stuff so serious...
This is just a blog for god sake!!!
I am sure I am on black list of many posters so what. Who cares.
Most of the stuff people write are only for their own reading satisfaction...
