Knicks · ESPN: Porzingis Bulking up before Knicks camp. (page 2)

Porzingis made it clear immediately after the draft that he couldnt believe we have work out facilities open 24 hours a day. That comment pretty much sold me that at the least he would work hard at getting where he needs to be to play competitively. I may not care for this roster, but I like him.

KP is gonna play PF for a while but I see him playing next to another C who can take some of the banging. I think Phil wants a Twin Tower tandem again like Bynum and Gasol. RoLo and KP can be a really strong duo.

Yep, people forget how LMA had issues against bigger & Stronger centers banging on him and playing physically and how much his game evolved once he had RoLo next to him doing the garbage work thus allowing him to focus on scoring mostly.

Its that reason why I really like the move to get RoLo (and a few other garbage men bigs to spot him on the regular) to put next to KP. Its also why I am hesitant to crown the Spurs the next champs with LMA there. Diaw, Splitter, West, and Duncan aren't built to be garbage men for 82 games plus the playoffs though they could do it by committee. Once PoP's start's sitting guys down and people just miss games due to old age LMA might have to play the Center Role where he'll get beat up on again like he use to before RoLo went to Portland

Plus Splitter now plays for Altanta

I'm warming up to this pick..he seems to have a much different flavor than the other Europeans we've drafted in the past.

He took all of 15 3pt shots in 2013/4. In 2014/5 he took 105, which amounts to almost 48% of the 3pt shots he's taken in his entire career.

Might have been due to his injury...more likely he's trying to remake his game.

Yea I like how Rolo and kp can interchange on defense both can swat shots all day .. Teams are going to have a hard time getting inside with kp and Rolo on the floor at the same time ...

On a side note is Phil moving Melo to pf to get him fully ready to team up with Durant in 17? It's quite the change in tune from last year when Phil strictly wanted Melo at sf..

Other side note Kobe to the Knicks is not far fetched after this season he reunites with Phil for one more run and retires with family

So the three headed deva of Durant,Melo,Kobe is a possibility?

I believe that any elite FA who might consider NY as a destination wants to see how KP does this season and maybe Grant to a lesser extent. If Porzingis looks like he could be a game changer for the Knicks, players like Durant might see a team worth going to. Durant is the only player I see who would make the Knicks a serious contender, capable of beating the last 3 champions. That is if Porzingis turns out to be the real deal as well. Otherwise I dont believe the bench is deep enough to match up with other squads right now.

Subtract 10 lbs from Pau...should be about right for KP at this point.

Yup. 230 when drafted, said he has gained 11 and wanted to put on 4 more by training camp. 245.

Yes 245 is pretty good. It's not so much the weight as it is his fitness level and strength. KG never really got heavy. He had the right strength level. Dirk is 245. KP is probably gonna settle somewhere around 250-260 at some point in his career IMO.
