It is yet to be determined but he was on his way maybe he will get there going forward as they truely build around him and him being the vet the youngster look too.

TS 57.6
WS48 .219

if melo was putting up those numbers we would be crowning him MVP over curry

Yawn, is Melo thrown in every convo? It is 14 games into the season let it play out and go even go into the post season and so on.

If he can sustain those numbers, great, and if he can push his team to the second round even better.

P.S. if it was Melo people would complain about the 3.6 TOs he avg.

Nope but there will be a new thread to post in. We are called fanatics for a reason.

I think the NBA needs to step in in Philly and fire the management. This is outrageous. I understand trying to tank--but theyve gone past their cycle and are just worse than ever. Yes they will have 3 high draft picks--YES they got to draft Okafor and are JUST lucky they didnt get Russell but it was only luck. They have no guards they have no plan and they are an embarrassment to paying fans.

it might be time. Bobby Marks was on the radio the other day and said Philly is 3-4 years away from contending for a playoff spot. He also talked a lot about being worried about Brett Brown and the impact all of the losing would have on his development as a coach. He made a lot of good points.
The whole way of doing business there circumventing the cap annually, continually chasing future assets instead of current players, ignoring team building for on court success isn't fan friendly and isn't a recipe for success at this point.

It's funny, 2016 might be the year the Warriors break the wins record, while Philly might break the losses record.

Sucks that Philly's pick is Top 3 protected!!! NO SOUP FOR YOU HINKIE!

Hinkie has backed himself into a corner where almost everything is going to depend on how he uses his upcoming draft picks. I can't see any top FAs going there in the near future, and I can't see him overpaying for a second level FA who might consider coming to Philly just for the $$.

He has to pray that Saric is the real deal and comes over sooner, rather than later, and that Embiid recovers so he can be traded for something of value.

Also wonder about Noel's development as a player at this point. Saw the Minny game yesterday, and you don't get a sense that he has a role with so much going through OK4. He can't stretch the floor at all, and has seen his shot blocking decrease as a PF.

Very dysfunctional team, IMO.

Just have to wonder if Philly would be better off entrusting someone else to make the picks in the upcoming draft.

Yes, it basically belongs to the Lakers. At 2-11 and no happy ending for Kobe in sight...yea Hinkie's a dumbass.

They have their own #1 pick obviously, but they borked that MCW trade among other trades with all the lottery protected scenarios.

what?!

they have their own and they ALSO have the lakers top 3 protected pick!

Do you realize how many picks Hinkie has in the first round next year?

Well no, the pick doesn't belong to Philly anymore. The Lakers will finish near the bottom, so they keep it, not Philly.

Philly has their #1 pick though for 2016.

That's not a positive thing however you slice it. The first round pick they acquired for 2017 is also protected. So they may have to wait for 2018(unprotected) to cash in on that dumb trade.

if the lakers are top 3 this year then philly gets LA's pick next year (protected 1-3 thats still positive).

Any way you look at it, how was this not a great trade?

Huh?

If the Lakers finish anywhere besides last (tough, given the Sixers are in the way) thy have a chance to finish outside the top three, ala the Knicks this past draft.

Whether or not the pick goes to Philly will be determined not by record, but by draft order, which is determined by the lottery.

They have if not the likely a very real possibility of giving the 4th or 5th pick to Philly.

Usually I don't care about bad teams but the fact is while they can do what they want at home, they have 41 road dates to consider and are killing teams who ticket holders likely could care less, or cannot resale them for very much.

The core of taxing teams teams that don't spend makes sense and I doubt the league considered in the age of financial parity a team could suck so bad for so long!!! Given that, they might want to start taxing them and compensatings teams based on games to be played. Example, in division teams whom have 76ers home get more than west coast temas that just have one date per season.

Knicks tanked but had cap space and top 5 pick and are now at least respectable. Philly trading MCW hurt themselves. I get what Hinkie is doing and having Saric and Emiid not playing is understandable but its also bad management.

Lakes drop to 4th they lose the pick?? I'd like that. On the other hand, I don't want Philly to get the last laugh. In fact, Celtics and Philly have a stockpile of picks and financially its a very good strategy.
Picks are not worth more.

Yes, I do fear Celt's and Philly's future.

true, but at the same time they are not upgrading the current talent by deferring out for a higher ceiling. LIke I said, they might still get the last laugh.
So by trading MCW did they get a guard in return better? Not yet.

I don't like to judge players or a trade if there are injuries. Then again, taking a risk on player who was damaged goods prior to the draft...

Nobody could predict that Holiday would miss large parts of 2 seasons. Holiday was becoming a good player.

Have to be foolish if you don't think he could help Philly if he had never been hurt.

So Hinkie becomes a genius for trading away a guy who has not fulfilled his potential because of injuries, and he is also a genius for drafting Embiid, who was injured TWICE prior to the draft, once after the draft, and has now missed two full seasons?

Lets be consistent.

Also, Philly got fined 3 mil for not disclosing Holiday's injury prior to the trade. That can't be good for business.
