He looked terrible down the stretch...and there seemed to be no reason behind what the Lakers were doing on offense other than to give Kobe a chance to do whatever he wanted to do.

I actually felt bad for Kobe, but then again, he has chosen to end things this way, and any embarrassment is on him, and nobody else.

He could have gone out as a mentor for the younger Lakers, and not play like he's trying to prove something, but he just seemed selfish tonight, and hardly played like a winner, IMO.

Maybe there is a method to the Lakers' madness, since Kobe seems to be doing his best to help the Lakers tank so they can keep their 2016 pick, but he is retarding the growth of Clarkson and Russell, who should be emerging as the guys who will bring in future FAs.

Philly was terrible down the stretch, too, seemingly taking 3 point shots without any attempt to make them good shots.

Terrible game to watch, except for the Kobe goodbye to Philly story, and the chance for the Sixers to end their streak.

No Jeter-type finish for Kobe this year, and he does not seem to be doing anything good for his young teammates, other than set them up for a top 3 lottery pick in 2016.

kobe is doing that sht on purpose, it's a tank season..There's no way a player of his IQ will try to win games that way.

I'm not sure what Kobe is trying to prove, but this is ugly.

He was never that good of a 3pt shooter to begin with. Heck, even Steph Curry has never taken 17 3s.

I feel bad for Kobe. If he's going to jack up a lot of shots, maybe he should operate as a facilitator out of the post?

Anyway, I was sort of glad Philly won tonight - hoping they have a let down game tomorrow against the Knicks!

Holy shit!

Not sure about this, even thought I hinted at it.

So Scott is telling Kobe's teammates prior to the season (While he is not around):

"Look...you guys know the story. Kobe is retiring, and although he can't help us win on the court anymore, he can help win in next year's draft by getting our team a top 3 pick.

So I'm going to tell you this...you let Kobe do whatever he wants to do. Tell him he's a beast or call him Black Mamba or Kobe Goat-just make sure that he's taking about 20 shots a game. If his 3's are not falling- tell him to keep them coming, and that he should shoot himself out of any slump he's going through.

Stand around when he has the ball...don't want to give him any ideas about passing for an assist. Just let him do his thing.

If we work as a team we can get that top three pick and leave Hinkie hanging.

Now lets get to it!"

I don't think any words were transpired. Kobe's shots look like he's in a empty gym, like their at a shoot around, completely oblivious to any of his teammates. The shots erk of selfishness. Cmon, the dude took 17 3's in one game.

Now he announce his retirement, and people are running to arena's and he's treating, them to the worst performance of his career.

Byron scott is a complete puppet regarding anything kobe, you think he can tell kobe anything, most he can do is ask him, and hope he doesn't ask a disrespectful question..

Through 20 games, Steph Curry is on a pace to make over 400 3s this season. The league record, set by Steph last season, is 286 makes. He has 102 right now.
Nalod @ 12/4/2015 8:04 AM
East: 11 teams over .500
West: 6 over .500

Warriors 15-0 so that has something to do with it, but I don't think 5 losses distributed would have changed it that much.

Way to early in the season but its interesting.

Nalod @ 12/5/2015 12:15 PM
12 .500 or over in the East, 6 out West.

...Of course the rise of the East means a rising of the bar for the Knicks to reach the playoffs.

Still early.. some of the East is going to begin to fracture.

Nice of the NBA to get Denver-Philly out of the way today when no one is paying attention.

Oh, I know its early and reminded it as so, but as we are approaching almost a quarter of the season its a interesting trend and one has to really see conference vs conference in a large sample to see the net effect and quantify the result.

But after 20 games only three teams are UNDER .500. Never guessed it would be the knicks not there, nor Milwaukee is 7-13!!!!
Brooklyn made the playoffs last year but wow are they bad this year. Philly is no surprise.

Out west Dallas is a surprise as is NOLA being so bad. Spurs don't play Warriors until end of january.
