Knicks · ESPN Mavs reporter predicting Ndour and Dalembert will get cut (page 2)

You can post whatever stats you want on NDour with the Mavs, the real question is what do you want in a 15th man on this roster. You want someone who plays with energy, will be ready if called upon to fill a role and someone who is a good locker room guy. NDour is all of those things from what I saw from him in SL. TA seems to have a little chip on his shoulder, the same type of chip another player we had that really wasn't very good but got a roster spot he didn't deserve. Chris Smith had a sense of entitlement and it was a cancer to our team. I haven't seen enough of TA to make that same statement, but I do not think he deserves a roster spot and I don't really like his attitude which to me smells of entitlement. I would rather have NDour as the 15th man.

If I read the chart right, over $.5M of his money is guaranteed for this season. (Am I wrong?)

If he is on any DL team it will be Dallas', if they have one. Makes no sense to just cut him.

Seems they might have done the same thing Phil did with Trice, Atkins, Saunders, and perhaps Summers...enough guaranteed $$ to make it easier for them to play in the DL without our staff. Dallas gave him a lot more guaranteed money than Phil gave our guys, though.

For good measure, here is 4 preseason stat lines: http://espn.go.com/nba/player/gamelog/_/.... 2-13 from 3point land, not too many rebounds, averaged about 22 minutes across 4 preseason games.

6'9" SF who is too slow? 6'9" PF on a roster with an abundance of guys who can play PF already?

What you got?

Easy, Seraphin.

With Seraphin out you are down to 2 big bodies: Rolo, KOQ. Both of those guys will miss like 10 games this year, you would be really thin at C

I would have to agree with this. I really liked Ndour and I was kinda bummed he didn't make the team, but at this point I'm not ready to cut Seraphin at all.

To have

trice
Sanders
Ndour
Atkins
?

That's a great idea.

Yeah, I'd be okay with that too. I'm just not crazy about the idea of cutting Seraphin at this point.

I'd rather have Ndour than Lance Thomas. I'd love to have Ndour AND TA.

What does NDour do that Early does not?

great point. I wouldn't mind bringing him back but Early looks like he will be that guy for the Knicks.

It never seems to work out for other teams (or the players themselves) when they poach players we put on the map- Lin, Cope, Purp, etc, hopefully they will eventually learn! Personally I am over Ndour, and would rather we go for Papanikalaou

Is he still available or has he signed with a team overseas?

Not sure what happened to his outside shot, but he had some decent games for Houston as far as the non-shooting aspects of the game go. Seemed to be developing into a glue guy, but the shooting was problematic.

I know he was injured at some point...don't remember what the injury was.

Easy, Seraphin.

I second that. He's a ball stopper who is sketchy in the post. My kid's a Wizzy fan and he wasn't one bit upset when they didn't sign Seraphin. Dude's not good enough. Rather have NDour.

fitzfarm @ 10/17/2015 5:28 PM
My only complaint about saraphin is that he's out of shape/ fat... As far as his game he has a polished post game and is a pretty solid passer as well as rebounder .Kevin is a nice back up and I defiantly wouldn't give his spot to Ndour. Having saraphin allows O'quinn to be the primary back up pf and will open up the mid range for O'quinn . Saraphin allows us to slow it down in the half court set . Saraphin is a nba size big Ndour is not.
fitzfarm @ 10/17/2015 5:31 PM
With that said about saraphin .. I still really like Ndour and would love to put him in the farm with trice, sanders, Atkins, ect

I agree. I think if he plays in the d league he plays in Dallas though because they gave him 500,000 in guaranteed salary. The Knicks would probably have to use their 15th spot on the roster for him and then could send him to Westchester.

Yes . I wonder if that's why we are giving lance Thomas a extended look. To see if he is worthy of the 15 th man

I wonder if this development aids the Knicks in reacquiring him. Of course, never wanna see a guy hurt himself (hope it's not too serious), but I wonder now if this leg thing is serious enough where several things happen: the Mavs cut him, he doesn't get several offers (maybe in the NBA, definitely in Europe) that I'm sure he would've gotten if he was 100% healthy, and he ends up with us in Westchester.

Nalod @ 10/18/2015 11:46 PM
Do they cut players when they are hurt?

Why wouldn't they just reassign him to their D-league? Some gets injured, you bring him up.

If you go by the thread title (Tim MacMahon's opinion), it sounds like they're leaning toward cutting him anyway. I'm presuming this leg injury may make that decision even easier for them. Could benefit us--other teams, NBA and Euro, may stay away now because he's hurt. This injury, depending on the severity, may limit his opportunities. If he's indeed cut, I'd like to see us immediately pick him up for Westchester, hurt and all. We then stash, rehab and develop an intriguing young player that we found and have liked all along. I wouldn't be too upset to see things work out like that. Let's see.

EnySpree @ 10/19/2015 5:47 AM
N'dour is a grown man. He signed with Dallas probably because he wanted to live in Dallas rather than NY. He had a great shot to make our roster, but he chose to go with Dallas. Proven winning team and the weather is better.

Do we even need him? We're stacked with 3/4 guys. We shouldn't even be talking about him.

As some pointed out we are thin at center, and I'll add were thin at shooting guard unless you believe in Thanasis.

N'dour Might not even be in the league this year due to injury.

Bye

Heres a question....If we are thin at center, why start two centers?

Ndour was great during the summer league. He also reminds me of LINSANITY. When the knicks help you go from nothing to something and you turn your back on us.....I believe Dolan and Phil will just sit back and watch his career deteriorate. Its a lesson for all knick players that try to come here just to boost their value and leave.

On top of all that.....like spree said. We are already deep at the 3/4 position. Who do you cut? Lance and Amundson are the coaches favorite puppet. Outside of them theres nobody else to cut....especially for an injured player struggling to make the team when healthy.

earthmansurfer @ 10/19/2015 9:45 AM
regarding the stress reaction:
1-NDour is young and should heal quite quickly
2-This is not a stress fracture, it is something that, depending on the person can be a few weeks to a couple of months (depending on where, severity, etc.)

As others have said, we are DEEP at the 4 position. That said, if they cut him, would love to have him on our minor league team.

well for once i am glad the knicks are not dealing with this bad luck...we have in the past dealt with this bad mojo multiple times. finally... we are in the good vibes side.
optimism is a powerful thing.
