and a terrible NBA player behind the 3 point line--hes not close his shot looks dreadful and it takes him out of the play.
Ahh dirk at 20 rookie was a 20 percent 3 point shooter... You can't tell a sharp shooter to stop shooting 3's... But I do agree he's pretty automatic with his midrange .
I'd like to see some off ball screens for KP cause when Rolo or O'quinn pass out of the post to him is automatic
Dwill is just a stupid player.

me too, but wrong thread lol
Disagree, he is hitting the front of the rim for the most part, its not sailing all over the place, just needs to get his legs back.

He should move a few inches closer also. Maybe only take corner 3s.

I'm not worried in the least. KP will get his stroke going eventually. As long as he's doing all the other things he'll be fine. He's too talented of a shooter to struggle for long. He'll get it worked out.
great! this stupid thread again.

12 feet and in is not where he's getting the ball. Would you prefer that he does a Bargnani? Maybe drive from the top of the key to be undercut. If he's open, i'm quite comfortable with his three point shot, especially in the waning seconds of the shot clock.

Porzingis was also sore from that neck stinger, couldn't of helped. I agree, he shoots like a guard, don't want to put any restrictions on his game. I want to see Porzingis pushing the envelope as far as what a 7'3 (and growing) big man can do in this league.

Good to see that there are still some smart posters on this board that don't buy into stupid old school bs like this.
You can't take away his outside game. If he takes 3 or so 3 pters a game, that will open his game up and he will come around. I want to see him playing inside out, give it some time before putting him in a defined role.
Let's not wonder what he could have been good at. This is the perfect year to be flexible.
And Briggs, to say his shot looks dreadful is far off and an insult to all the truly bad shooters out there.
Yes, we have a 7'3" PF who can shoot 3's and we don't want him to do that. KP should work on making his game LESS diverse. Sounds good. LOL.
One dimensional center parked in the paint forever...coming right up!

It's a great idea! As we all know, players should NEVER work on improving and expanding their game- they just need to stick to what they were good at in their first 5 games as a rookie. Besides which, 3pt shooting has become irrelevant in the nba- it's a dying art.

the only 3 I would like to see him shoot is in transition. Doesnt even have to be fast break. I am just talking about when the offense is coming down the floor. Often the defense is setting up and whoever has KP will position at the top of the paint as most defenders do when they guard a big. Simply have KP stop at the top of the arc. If his guy isnt coming out he should take that straight away 3 every time. Spread that defense.
I do not want him taking set shots from 3. That is NOT a better shot than from 12-15 feet where KP seems automatic.
Like the other day when Horford took those 3s againt the Knicks. Where they set shots? No... just a case of him standing on the 3 point line as the offense and defense were getting set up. They passed him the ball, nobody guarded him, he took the shot. Like that.
If you want to call 3's for KP then you have a 7'3 guy standing 25+ feet from the hoop. That is pure basketball retardation. Like those putback dunks? Thats not happening when he's 25 feet away. He should be around the paint.
Nothing wrong with using him to spread the floor, but his primary role should always have him in the paint area or close to it.

credibility killer ... sorry
please tell me what percentage (automatic) that you expect him to hit from 12-15.
please tell me that if he can shoot 35 percent from 3 that you don't think that he should take them of picks and slips if he is open and if his slow defender won't come out.
please tell me if you think that any good GM or coach agrees with this silliness. Of course not unless they are old and stupid.
Even old school phil does not see this your way.
Take the highest percentage shot based on matchups and shot charting. Why is this so complicated?
