Knicks · Changes I would make (page 2)
Shout out to Briggs--I gotta tell ya my man, your analysis has been spot on lately -- I don't disagree with anything you've had to say, whether it's concerning KP playing closer to the basket, going after SG Jabari Brown after the Lakers cut him, a backcourt shakeup that we desperately need, D-Will being left alone and allowed to just do his thing w/o being worried that he'll get the hook after a bad pass or a TO, KOQ playing more/taking some more shots (he's overpassing a tad I feel), Early playing some 2G for some more athleticism/transition offense and even trading Melo if the right deal presented itself (something that would be in the best interest of the team moving forward--I agree it's hard to picture winning it all with this guy as the main cog) -- it's all right on the money 100%. Nice job.

I'll speak for myself on this--I know it's early but I really needed to see something, anything, that showed me he was indeed special. Competitiveness, a fair amount of production, maybe a great play or two, etc.. Well we've seen that these last two games. I feel a lot better about him now. I still have some concerns (his strength, the fact that his game isn't defined despite playing professionally overseas, and I don't know if he has small hands for a man that big or what but his hands aren't great) but he's making good progress. I agree with Briggs 100% -- he needs to be operating 17' and in. The closer the better. I said it on the game thread last night. You don't mind the occasional 3-ball but he can't camp out there. I can't wait to see KP refine and define his game--can't wait to get to a point where he gets the ball somewhere in the mid-range/high post/low post and we all say, "it's a wrap. KP's in his office--go to work big fella!" He's not there yet. Right now, he doesn't have an office. But I've seen enough now to know he's on his way to becoming something special--it's just gonna take some time getting there. I'm all for being patient with him. Can't wait 'til he's the focus of this offense one day or one of them, where everything starts going through him and he's the one taking 15-20 shots a game (good high % shots), not Melo. In the meantime, there's been evident progress and it's great to see. I like that he's being a factor on the boards too. He'll get there..Shout out to Briggs--I gotta tell ya my man, your analysis has been spot on lately -- I don't disagree with anything you've had to say, whether it's concerning KP playing closer to the basket, going after SG Jabari Brown after the Lakers cut him, a backcourt shakeup that we desperately need, D-Will being left alone and allowed to just do his thing w/o being worried that he'll get the hook after a bad pass or a TO, KOQ playing more/taking some more shots (he's overpassing a tad I feel), Early playing some 2G for some more athleticism/transition offense and even trading Melo if the right deal presented itself (something that would be in the best interest of the team moving forward--I agree it's hard to picture winning it all with this guy as the main cog) -- it's all right on the money 100%. You 2 should really enjoyed that secluded island together and build on that beautiful student -> teacher relationship. Maybe Jabari Parker can join you ![]()

I think you mean Jabari Brown, right wise guy? ![]()
What do you want me to tell ya -- we've been discussing a lot of the same things lately--I'm down with each and every point raised. Why can't I compliment another poster who's really been on his game lately? Instead of being a punk, contribute something meaningful to the discussion. Which of these ideas doesn't make any sense to you and why?

Every last thing I said here made sense and my bet is it cost us games already. With what we have here give Early his chance to start the game at 2 g with Galloway at 1. Also reward Quinn's efficacy and rebounding by starting him and expanding his minutes. Play admission over Thomas and make sure williams gets 24_26 min because we need his energy and scoring. Lastly pick up Erick green and cut Calderon and cut him. That saves us 3mms in cap next year

I agree with you.....but unless u plan on sending msg a personal message.....this goes on deaf ears just like your original post. I have no idea why early hasn't played more.....not just starting but playing. His defense alone is an upgrade.

I do not at all agree with bringing RoLo off the bench. What about last night's performance tells you that he doesn't deserve the starting line-up role?

Am I reading the box score correctly? Robin Lopez grabbed 2 boards total? We might as well have kept Bargnani.
Briggs is 100% correct- maybe except starting Early.
Give me Gallo, O'Quinn & tell the high priced veterans, including Lopez, that they need to step it up. They play to win, not develop.
As Clyde Frazier said last night, "If you're going to lose, lose with youth."
Secondly, and this is a no-brainer even on the Comedy Network, deactivate Calderon. He's #15. End of discussion.
I'm assuming Aflalo is back. I have no problem with Sasha backing him up. Sasha is here as a glue guy between the Triangle, Fisher, and the team.
Williams needs to start. His energy will force the opposing team to commit fouls and expend energy. This can help second unit talent such as Melo and Sasha to look faster and fresher when they finally take the court.
Fisher needs to start treating every game as an important one. And Melo needs to get that message as well. The aw shucks grinning bullshat needs to stop. When Lebron's teams are down he's all business. Melo acts like its just another loss. When Phil speculated that Melo had another level to him I don't think he imagined a downshift.
Lead, follow, or get out of the way.

Dude, you're just hating on him for whatever reason. If it wasn't for the way RoLo was defending Monroe AND scoring on him at will, we would've easily been down by like 20 - 25 points by the time we blinked.

yeah agree here. Need to watch games to appreciate what Rolo is doing out there. I think the scouting report on him is solid: boxes out, defends and makes life easier for those around him. It's one of the reasons why KP gets so may get so many offensive rebounds, or even rebounds in general.

Maybe he is, but right now would not be the time to find that out. Our frontcourt is not at all a problem right now. RoLo and KP are looking really good togther, and I'm confident that they're just going to look even better as the season rolls along. We have to address the backcourt. Let's do that and see what happens. Making changes to the backcourt AND the frontcourt (where none is really needed in the first place) right now would be too much.
