The problem was that Grant and Gallo don't start. If you pull Jose and Sasha early then the minutes distribution is messed up.

Fish is showing patience with Calderon who's been a starter his entire career. He's giving him a fair shot and the other Knicks will appreciate Fish giving him a chance and not kicking him to the curb before the season even started. Now they know the coach has their back because one day it could be them. He will be benched and team camaraderie and chemistry will remain intact
