He has been getting killed by posters (myself included at times)
He has these guys playing with crazy heart and I actually liked his subs tonight.
Hopefully he learns who he can rely on and its not Seraphin or Dwil.
Fisher gets the game ball and enough with the constant killing of his rotations.
Yeah, I liked most of tonight - except Seraphin. If KP got Seraphin's minutes, I'd have been thrilled.
I loved bringing in Early.
Fish has them playing hard.
If Melo was more himself and once Afflalo is back, this team could be very interesting.

seraphin is awful. Selfish POS
Afflalo here tomorrow and I am finally really excited.
Melo was a really mixed bag tonight. Great first half, so many issues with his second half. He is playing MUCH better defense overall which should not go unnoticed.
Knicks are tied for the 8th seed with the Pacers right now. 8 games into a tough schedule, that's not too shabby. Especially w/o Afflalo.
Kudos to Fish for pushing the right buttons effort and defensive wise. LT and Early great subs tonight.
That said that Melo ISO at the end made me want to gouge my eyes out. That and Calderon on D. Should've done defense/offense sub.
Otherwise can't hate on pulling out the W.

He can't control melo's shot selection especially during games.
I don't know if we can say it is fisher who has the team balling with energy. We have a good mix of talent this year; and most are motivated for different reasons

...every team but one a playoff team last year.

Those quick shots like 4 or 5 seconds into the shot clock had me screaming so loud my baby daughter started getting scared.
Melo basically made my baby scared.
Excellent OP.
We are playing as a TEAM. Look at the guys at the end of the game, this is a great (if far from perfect) win. There is hugely increased hunger throughout the roster and our young players are bringing out the competitive edge in our more experienced players. It's great to see.
Wins in Milwaukee, Washington and now Toronto is a superb return early in the season and we have been very competitive for the vast majority of every match.
Plenty to work on of course but really positive signs.
Need to play DWill. Cant give up on him after 8 or so games. Take your own advice and stop being a GM or coach

Guys were playing hard for him at the end of last year, too.
A more professional group this year...perhaps more self-motivation, but this has been a scrappy group at times, and I think you have to give the coaching staff some credit.

not giving up. He played but limited and that is the way it needs to be now. He breaks the offense and has Zero value in the half court sets.
This is a very good sign from this team. They don't quit!!! You can see them playing together on D at the end. Fish may not be perfect but one thing he has been able to do is get his players to give effort for him. That's no small thing. He'll eventually learn the other stuff but getting your team to hustle and dig deep most nights is not easy. IMO I saw this trait last year too even during all the losing.

he won't because that and jose sucks is what he stands on.
If you can't give fisher credit for this team ballin then you are just not being fair and don't get it.
Fisher is also starting to play guys that he trusts more minutes.
He trusts LT and even Lou and Jose because they don't break the offensive sets.

And three of the eight are top 5 teams in the league - Spurs, Cavs, Hawks - and Knicks were in most of those games. They've played well.
Only annoying loss was in Cleveland, though I knew they'd lose that one. I didn't see the home loss to the Bucks, so I don't know how that went, but I think it's fair to say the Bucks are better than the Knicks right now if Giannis is playing.

He has more faith in Lance at this point, and Thomas has been solid so far this year, at least for the most part.
Coaches always have their favorite players who others might not appreciate- Thomas is that guy on this team, although folks seem to be understanding what Fisher sees in his game, so the under appreciation might not continue much longer.

agreed.
we all overestimate how much we think we understand

Yeah, and they don't make dumb turnovers. Jose gets beat by almost every PG, but he plays smart and doesn't turn the ball over. Only 9 team turnovers tonight. On the road, against the playoff tested and division champ Raptors... that's pretty good. Also a sign of good coaching to my mind - keeping the turnovers down.

I think he is turning that around for most with his play. I think the biggest part in the hate he got to start season is his game is so ugly. He is like a poor man's ron artest..really poor but effective.
Fisher didn't have these guys playing with heart. These guys were try hard guys before having Fisher as a coach.
