Knicks · If the draft were today, based on what we have seen so far, Who you got at number 2? (page 2)

don't you mean you were aggressive towards Kaminsky?
If Towns is 1 though, KP gets 2 from me because he is a SPECIAL 2 way intelligent player. I can't think of taking Russell, Okafor or Mudiay here as they just don't seem to be anywhere near complete.

Yeah I liked Frank but my final pick was KP.

A player you like at #4 you generally like them because you believe they are going to be great. A player you like at 26 or 38 you might not view as a star, but a player who you think will be a very solid NBA player and has one defining skill that makes them a good role player, but definitely not at #4.
Whatever pick you have--you try to get a guy you like--maybe that guys turns out to be a star or good player. I learn more about the NBA all the time. The draft process is one that you dont finish until late in the process--maybe even 10 minutes before. Seems that way with the Knicks. I dont think the Knicks liked KP as much as me. They still were looking elsewhere according to Bill Simmons.

they were not looking elsewhere, they were drafting Stein as you guaranteed.
You were way off and you often are (just like the rest of us). Don't back track.
And you have no freakin clue what the knicks were thinking, you report it as if you are marc berman. Bill simmons knows I little perhaps but Phil don't let nuthin out of the bag! Nobody sees what he has coming. This is not the MDA days when we were drafting Curry.
And, you were sure the KP was hiding and injury .... c'mon man! You jumped on the KP so damn late it was a joke!
You were also absolutely sure that Ok4 was gonna be tim duncan and that he will be unstoppable out of the gate.
You backed off kaminsky because you saw that there was no logical draft gurn predicting that he will be near the top other than you.

I have to be consistent...I'm just not willing to count out any of the guys in the 1-11 slot this early in their career.
Have not followed Charlotte at all, so I have no idea what Kaminsky's situation is.
Have said this before...will say it again- Kaminsky was pretty much a non-entity early in his college career, but improved each year. Dismissing him as an NBA player would be a mistake, IMO. Jefferson will probably be gone after this year...maybe they even do a midseason trade if they are out of the playoff mix. I don't see Zeller as any kind of long term big man solution for them, so I don't see why Kaminsky won't be playing a much greater role on Charlotte next year.
On the other hand...not sure what picks Boston offered MJ, but the right mix would have gotten me to give up #9 if I was Jordan, no doubt about that, and if they had gotten Boston's pick this year they would have had a chance for a guy like Portis and others at #16.
Emmanuel Mudiay may have earned the highest praise of them all when Jason Kidd predicted that the Denver Nuggets' point guard would have a better career than he did.

I dont know if you have watched okafor but hes been the closest thing to Tim Duncan we have seen in 17 years. Hes been much better than KP
This draft was full of really good players--really I think not many will be wrong with picks 1-10 or so.
Who cares if I thought the Knicks were going to take Stein--for all we know maybe they were--we wont know?? They took KP but my guess is that they did not love him. My bet.

Okafor doesn't rebound or defend. Those are things Duncan was known for. He only compares to Duncan in one aspect of the game, post scoring. Towns is closer to Duncan as far as all around talent and strengths. He's a 2-way big. Okafor is not. That being said, okafor is very good but he has not been better than KP. KP would be getting a lot of touches and 36 mpg in Philly too.

Okafor has been a very solid NBA rebounder/shot blocker. Hes on team that has regressed at the guard position and has 0 bench. The GM should be canned. No way KP could average 20 points and 50% right now and Okafor is younger

This is what drives me crazy. Its like you just blurt things out without looking.
Ok4 has been a below avg rebounder, below avg FT shooting, terrible TS, his defense is horrendous ...
PPG is silly, anybody can get points especially on philly.
KP has been and is miles better than Ok4. You kidding me?

One can only imagine the extra development time those 4 months will favor Okafor.

Has anyone actually watched ok4? He doesnt need developmental time and he plays with horrible teammates. If we swapped in KP for OK4 NO way could he do what Ok4 has done. I love KP--Im not trading him--but there is a reason why Ok4 went 3rd and hes proving it.

Okafor is a couple months younger. Not even worth mentioning. And KP probably wouldn't average 20 but would likely average over 15 plus get his 10+ rebounds and play quality D. His impact would be similar to that of okafor with those minutes. I do agree though that the Philly GM should be fired. He's terrible and has sold ownership on a sham. Nothing but job security for him. Look at how ainge has made his team good again in the same amount of time and has a great draft situation. A good GM can do both at the same time and does not have to put a waste of a team on the floor for a chance to become competitive down the road like the Philly GM has. He's fooling everyone in that organization.

I'm not comparing ANY rookies 10-12 games into their career, but to cite Okafor as being younger is overshooting.
4 months is meaningless, one way or another. Has no place in the discussion.
