Knicks · Can Someone Explain Why You Are Happy With Being 6-6? (page 2)

StarksEwing1 @ 11/20/2015 7:49 AM
Im not happy about being 6-6 BUT im happy with our progress. Also we could easily be 10-2 in a tough schedule to start the year. Porzingis looks like a steal and kids like galloway and grant are coming along well

Folks, I guess you don't get it. We have lost half the games we've played in! Are you happy to eat half a Thanksgiving meal? Are you happy to see half of JAWS? Were you happy to see Bargnani play half a season for us in 2013? Of course not. Real fans want it all. We want a full meal, we want to see the shark explode, we want to see Bargnani play a full 82 for the Knicks.

We are 6 and 6. We lost half our games! Anyone who is happy obviously has half a brain.

Im happy because the Hornets are also 6-6. Now I know a guy who posts on the internet who said the Hornets were the real deal and going to be champs. Now most think this guy is an idiot and mock him, but I am able to see the pure genius behind his posts. I mean this guy KNOWS BASKETBALL. Now the Hornets needed a waived off 3 to win the first game, and the Knicks beat them well the 2nd time they play, so my measuring stick isn’t 6-6, its playing the Hornets really well. When you beat the soon to be champs your record is just window dressing. This team has greatness written all over it.

Look at the schedule we have played so far. That's your answer.

+1

And actually, counting the preseason wins only (WHICH EVERY BASKETBALL GENIUS KNOWS SHOULD COUNT) We are 10-6!!! That puts us almost on par with the Clevelands, Chicago's and Atlanta's!!!

And Taylor's hot:

I am learning people's personalities on here and it's clear FW that you are a schmuck who likes to piss in cheerios or blow out a person's birthday candle before they do.... Either you are completely unable to put things in proper context/perspective or you're just a grump who like to evoke your grumpiness on others.

This guy is making a fool out of anyone that actually responds seriously to him. He is here as a total joke. I think he is writing a report for his 10th grade assignment.

no way thats 10th grade material... Im thinking 5th-6th grade, around the age of the kids I coach.
Nalod @ 11/20/2015 10:23 AM
Fire, ask those around you that if say less stupid things a day after making a fool of yourself, ask them if they are happy with the improvement.
Nobody would say: "No, your not eloquent and construct proper thoughts as say other people we know!".
I think move in the right direction would be welcome.

Scenario no. 2. Ever been on crutches? Dr says its gonna be a few months before your well enough to play basketball again. A week later your off crutches and pain is subsiding. Some says "hey, you must be glad to be off those things and pain subsiding as well!". Or do you say "Naw, Im bipolar and if im not 100% then Im nothing!!"

The simple fact is your posts often moronic and given your "high standards" you seem to boast about frequently and might want to look in the mirror. If you don't care about what others think of you that's fine. But spewing nonsense is not really adding to any conversation.

lol.

A lot of lol posts lately from the usual suspects

I know 6-6 isn't setting the world on fire, and I certainly feel we let 2 games go and should be 8-4. Firewoodson has a point to a certain degree, 6-6 is nothing to write home about.

Poster like myself and nix, knew this roster was good enough for 45 wins, 42 at the very least. Most of you were in the 33 to 37 range, so i guess your more surprise then i am.

At this point the only thing im surprise at is how many minutes Quin and dwill have gotten lately, im almost shock

I agree. After Summer League and pre-season you could see this team was a .500 team. Better than last year, obviously, but still just a .500 team. Nothing to be over-the-moon happy about. My God, look at the back pages of NY newspapers and you'd think we are the 13-0 Warriors.

The inherent problem with this logic is if every team that blew a big lead (like the Clips) or a decent fourth quarter lead or had a bad last few possessions in a close loss should have won those games, then the aggregate winning percentage in the league would be higher than .500, which is mathematically impossible.

There's be more wins that losses.

That's sports. Every fan thinks their team should be xx games better than their actual record. Knicks will also win games the other team's fans think they should have won.

nixluva @ 11/20/2015 2:41 PM
I think most of us knew this team had a tough schedule and also would need time to get their act together. We're relying on a lot of new players, a lot of YOUNG players, Jose and Melo getting their legs back, so this is the kind of team that should get better as they play. It seems that they are making good progress. The losses have been frustrating because they are so close. This is also a good sign.

I'd be happy with half the meal if the entire meal was enough for two people to begin with. I'd be happy with splitting a million dollar lottery with someone. And I'd be perfectly happy to end the season with 41 wins if it meant we got into the playoffs and the team looked like they were peaking just at the perfect moment and were capable of making some noise. Yeah, I'd be happy with that for this season. If you want to be miserable about what we're seeing, go right ahead. But trying to bring everybody else down is kind of lame, dude.

DrAlphaeus @ 11/20/2015 2:58 PM
If you live in the 5 boroughs, I think 6-6 might be too tall to be comfortable on the subway. I think I am happier at 6-2.

I'm not sure what is dumber, this thread, or the fact that I thought he was refering to height when I clicked on this thread?
