When has KP been the main focus, exactly?
His two best games his points have to his and the Knicks credit come within the offense. No attempt that I'm aware has been made to get him scoring opportunities for any sustained minutes.
So to educate me, can you point out what games or segments of games you're referring to?

It's a reasonable and genuine question.

If KP was an a-hole this could be an issue, but he is not, and he will never say anything stupid. Even talked about each of them picking the other up game to game, in an interview.
KP is the "future" of the team at this point...Is that a surprise? So are Grant and Gallo, for that matter. It is a matter of age affecting ability as time moves on...Its not divisive, just a matter of fact that is not something which really matters in the here and now.
I was a major supporter of KP, and have been critical of Anthony in the past, but I have NEVER even considered looking at them as some kind of competitors for the soul of the team.
Please move on...Nothing to see here, folks.
Me, I'd personally be thrilled of Porzingis was the best player on the team night in and night out, can play 34+ mins regularly and carried the team on this back to the postseason.
Melo 2nd best player?? Sign me the f up.
I'm just a.) willing to wait for that to occur; b.) it doesn't occur to me to make it a fight between him and a teammate.

You said they've been best when he is the main focus. I'm just initiating a friendly discussion about when that has been.
When has it been?

KP has been a great gift for us. Dont forget about grant and galloway. They are so important off the bench

KP has been a huge benefit and there are metrics that suggest Knicks are at their best when he has been on the floor.
Galloway is a solid player whose impressive stats don't even tell the true story of his value. As he contunues to get more minutes and develop, the Knicks will get better.
Grant is a rookie with a long way to go but indication are he too is a positive on the floor most minutes.
But when as KP been the main focus?

What are you talking about?
I'm happy with the way things are going.
You are?
We are 8-6, sharing the ball much better. KP is an upcoming star. Melo playing defense and dishing it.
Great team effort.
Yeah

Yeah
Yea I think most of us are ecstatic with how we are playing... The best part as long as we stay healthy we are only going to get better!!! We are the most improved team hands down! And I don't know who is thinking KP vs Melo they seem to be building great chemistry together I think everyone here sees that... This is a team game and we are playing great team basketball Melo has always been a one man show for most of his career. it must be a breath of fresh air to play with a talent like KP... They are a great tandom with a nice sidekick in AA!
I think this team is playoff bound as long as we stay healthy....
Again no one is thinking Melo vs KP and if they are they are being blind... They could form one of the greatest teams in Knicks history Starks and Ewing... Monroe and Frazier... KP and Melo
this is a silly thread. this is not about melo vs kp ... they need to both shine in their own way. KP has to find consistent parts of him game and build on them and melo has to move into the next phase of his career where he becomes more of a facilitator first instead of a shoot first player.
The definitely have to be smart with his usage, i notice he played 36 minutes last night. You can't get to caught up in his play where you start disregarding the plan. You certainly don't want to run him into the ground like MDA did LIN and Amare, and Woodson did melo and Kidd

We aren't the ones holding the ball, playing ISO, ignoring the system and generally doing whatever he wants - please speak to Melo is you are worried about creating conflict.
The entire roster plays in our system - Melo plays in his own system.

I can't believe he is a knick and that he is this good this soon. Also, Melo has held up well and should have a few prime years left.

Yep if we can upgrade the pg spot I think we can make a serious run
Usage rates for melo and kp are 30.5 and 24.8. Pretty close and will likely trend closer as the season goes on.

Then went on to blame Melo for not accepting Lin even though it was Knicks fans trashing Melo on Melo's social media during Linsanity while Melo was injured. Don't see history repeating itself here though. Melo and KP will work better then Melo and Amare or Melo and Lin or Melo, Lin & Amare due to the fact that KP impacts the game without the ball in his hands. Can put up points just going threw the motions on offense getting kick outs or pops. And now is starting to get iso touches and clear outs.
If Tyson had an offensive game and jump shot with range. A facilitating wing or forward would be ideal with this group.
Another reason why the KP vs. Melo thing won't work is the fact that KP is mentally stronger than either STAT or Lin. He doesn't play like a byotch when he's on the floor with Melo, the way Lin started to when Melo came off the injury. And he's not as selfish and stubbornly blind as STAT. It's only going to work for the drama queens who have to entertain themselves with unnecessary BS.
Nice bit of revisionist history. Melo played like a complete a dumbass as he was too busy sulking during all of Linsanity but yeah let's call the first year PG playing his first week 0 games out. LOL is mentally stronger c yes, but KP isn't the issue. Diva boy will start sulking about his role in about 15 more games.

Like I said KP could fall down and be out for the season. Of course I hope not. All I am saying is lets enjoy the ride with both players. We are quick to put our players on a pedestal and things fall apart then we throw them under the bus like Shumpet. Reading the game post some of you instead of enjoying the win still wanted to beat up on Melo. Damn man give it a break.

I will hold you to that 15 games from now and call you out on that. All you are doing is just hoping for trouble and I ain't coming. Just because you are a Melo hater thats your problem.

Legitimate concern, IMO. I thought Gallo burned out last year as Fisher came to count on him for so much.
Like overusing your relievers to win games in the first half of the baseball season and then finding out that their arms are dead down the stretch.
Only played 26 minutes against OKC, though. Funny, but he had more pep the second night.
His playing time is up to almost 29MPG, a bit more than I was expecting...figured he would be closer to 25MPG than 30, this early in the season.
Seem to recall him being pretty good with post game recovery routine, but cannot remember what he did.
I think they will watch him carefully...and its kind of difficult for him to hide fatigue at his size.
KP ain't fighting Melo, and Melo ain't against KP.
Melo has a bigger worry to concern himself.
Melo vs Father Time.
