Now, if we were going to trade all our veterans for youth and picks and build long-term around Porzingis, that would be another story, but I don't think that's where you were going.

I agree.

uh ... what?

How about Melo and Koq for Curry and Klay?

Lol!

Agreed as well.

With Calderon we win what 34 games? without we win what 32 games? This is the time of the season where you look around at clubs who went all in and might be willing to do a forward looking deal that includes younger players to get better now.

One thing I know about the Knicks there are WAY WAY WAY to many inconsistent players to be .500 over 80 games. Only way to .500 is BOTH KP and Melo playing well each night--and it wont happen.

Right now Calderon play has probably elevated enough to bring back a prospect a similar contract and a 2nd rounder.

I think a healthy Calderon is way more than a 2 game difference - probably at least 5 games. I don't mind trading him to get younger if it's part of a real youth movement, which would mean trading Afflalo and maybe Melo.

5th most difficult schedule, Melo and KP have been playing inconsistent and team is at .500. 20% of season gone by.

Perhaps Grant having issues scoring and shooting may delay this.

I can live with Jose rest of the year. I think it was Martin that mentioned this is a building and culture year. If a bigtime player in the backcourt comes available and we do a many for one type trade ok, but Jose is a good lockerroom guy and every coach loves him. He can shoot it, never turns the ball over is apparently a huge part of that lockerroom. He's staying put for this year.
