Good article, thanks. What impresses me the most about KP's offense is his ability to shoot off the dribble. Great footwork, small fast steps in half court, instead of long awkward strides. Porzingis doesn't run the floor like he is on stilts. Can only imagine what he will be like in a couple of seasons. Just hope we have the best supporting cast possible for his prime years.

Yes, a nice article. Even nicer that the Knicks are becoming worthy of such articles . . .

Good read. KP has renewed my hope for the future. This team will need to continue to build around him and it will be interesting to watch what they decide to do. This year's experiment is going to be very interesting to watch as well.

I really think of KG. A dominating rebounders and defensive player with a great offensive skill set. Stay skinny. KP is not weak, not even a little. The biggest thing is he's right between the ears. I really give Phil credit, whether it was luck or planning we bit the bullet, threw a year away and drafted a cornerstone player as a result. We just need to keep building up the pipeline. Grant's development is the key to the next step. KP's development almost seems like a forgone conclussion at this point, its just a matter of how fast and what his ideal role/position is.

finally the smart and respected writers our gonna teach the old schoolers the values of the modern game. Enough with the devalued Al Jeffersons of the world.

As written by Lowe in this great article, the advantages of three-point shooting have created an environment in which skill can overcome size deficiencies.
Again... San Antonio, the poster for great NBA franchises is the exact opposite.

Old school works just fine. Al Jefferson is not the old school poster boy. He is as one dimensional as a player can be.

don't invest, just enjoy studying the game. I also find it amusing how so many fans are so uneducated (not referring to you).

GS is the poster boy now for offense not SA.

+1
Another big difference from KG, is KP doesn't make statement blocks and waste time preening. Watched the clip of the 16 blocks in 4 games over and over again. He practically catches the shots, or he blocks them to a teammate. I can't see KP growing into a defensive version of Dirk. He's going to be way too valuable in the paint. I think this will be a problem going forward the next few seasons with Rolo on the squad, because KP should be guarding the Okafors of the world, once the rookie shine wears off.

Man, life is good, when these are the problems we have!

If anyone knows how to make it work with two 7'ers it's Phil and Fish. They know EXACTLY how to function that way. They haven't been finishing games that way so I think there's a way to merge the old with the new and make it work. KP at C and Melo at PF is how they've been closing which is great that they can go to that. I see this evolving over time.
