The Knicks won the second pick in last June's lottery . . . and felt obliged to pick the consensus #2 player: Okafor.
Lol. It's funny how things play out sometimes, right?
Yeah but to truthful NOBODY expected KP would be this great so quickly. In the end we got lucky for a change
Then Okafor punched you so hard you woke up

Yeah, I was just leaving out that part of it . . . so as not to pile on the guy when he's having trouble.
Glad we lucked out for a change but not like Okafor on court is a bust. Still arguably the third best player in a good draft. Looking forward to Towns-KP matchup in eleven days

In my estimation, when it comes to sports fans on the internet, the thing that nobody expects is things will happen that nobody expects.
That you will be surprised all the time is the least surprising things about professional sports.
Fans get to up and so down on things based on predictions and speculation.
It Porzingis surprising? Sure.
Should anyone have been ranting and raving after the Knicks drew the fourth pick or when they selected KP?
No, not if you've actually ever watched sports and bothered to remember what you watched.
Pro sports/the NBA requires an open mind.

After watching him in the summer league, his being held out frequently for injuries etc., it certainly didn't seem like he would be where he is already so fast. I do think the added weight helped him. Interesting that Billups was saying that he wasn't surprised with his success at all after playing with him before the 14 draft.

thanks for the info about billups, i hadnt heard that before. I dont want him to put too much weight on because his quickness is what makes him so dangerous for the opposition
I honestly think okafer would have been just as good in this system. With the veterans and high character guys we have on this team, dude would be shinning right now.
If phili would have picked KP, with their coaching staff, and system, he would not be playing as well. Kp benefits from having a guy like melo on the team, he says it in almost every interview. I don't think most of you take that into consideration.

Its the defensive impact that separates KP and Towns from Okafor. They would all get their points viadiffering ways but the first two are better defenders and rebounders while KP likely will be the most difficult matchup. I was asked last night to name a younger player ( 25ish or younger ) that I would trade KP for . Towns? After some thought No. The only one was Anthony Davis. Hope Im not going over my skis with KP becoming a star but I just see it being a matter of how good he will become

no way! Ok4 does not rebound as well, no defense, does not stretch the floor, and he is an azzhole.

and who in the world thought he would rebound like this and in the NBA? He was getting thrown around like a rag doll last year and in SL.
