Did anyone watch Knicks Extra after the game last night when Hahn and wally were talking about if KP would be the 1st pick in the draft if teams knew what they know now?? It was pretty funny and they absolutely think KP would be drafted 1st overall even over Towns. I would post the video if i knew how so if anyone knows how then please do. It was i think about 16/17 minutes into the show that they were talking about it.
Don't watch the show for what Hahn and Wally say. Hahn is good, but Szerb is an egotistical obnoxious fool. MSG killed the post-game show when they brought in Szerbiak. Just watch the post-game stuff for Bill Pidto's 150 and the post-game interviews.
After the Bargnani debacle, any GM who would choose to go with an unknown Euro player with the first pick of a draft would deserve to be fired. To me, this is not a debate to have. KP never dominate at any level; thus he was an unknown commodity
That's why you aren't a NBA GM.
European Leagues are culturally different. Teenagers don't dominate and it has nothing to do with their skills.
As to Bargnani, to suggest because of him no white, non-American ballplayer should ever be picked first is ridiculous.

Wally world may be in love with himself but he and Hahn deliver first rate insight and commentary. They pull few punches and are a great duo. My beef is with Trautwig who is also talented , you would think someone with facetime would take care of their brown decaying teeth. Easy to listen to but difficult/ disgusting to watch. Dont care if he was a heavy tobacco chewer or a crack head , unless there is an underlying medical issue then he should have some whitening/ dentistry done to improve appearance and make him watchable. On the visual front, Rebecca Harlow is a nice addition.

Towns did not dominate as a freshman...Russell's team did nothing in the tournament...Mudiay played 12 games in a non-D league...etc.
Does that make OK4 the clear choice for #1 prior to the draft according to you? We now know how he has responded to the pressure of being a rookie on a bad team.
We all had this kind of argument pre-draft, you and I both know this.
Why would you call a guy who had lottery promises LAST year before he pulled out, had received the Rising Star award given to the best young Euro player, and was scouted by all the high lottery teams, an unknown commodity?
I probably would have taken Towns prior to the draft, but much of the hesitation with KP was because so many felt it would take 2-4 years for him to develop. Is there anyone around who still feels this is true?
He was as ready as anyone, as it turns out, even more so. You can't discount the level of competition he faced, and the character and demeanor he developed as a young pro playing superior competition in a league with adults made him different than all of the American born players, and Mudiay, who played in a league that did require its players to play a complete game.
Very easy to make a case for picking him #1 at this moment.
Things might change...who knows, but with what Minny now knows, KP would have earned consideration for being picked #1...and there is no other way to look at this.

Wally's baggy suits that are seven sizes too big are actually harder to look at than Trautwig.
Rebecca is getting better and better looking by the day. She's no Jill Martin in the personality department, and her delivery is stil that of someone who smoked twelve joints before the cameras went on, but I'm getting used to her.
Wally and Hahn blew any credibility they had last year. A 5-36 team and those two would go on and tell us the triangle is working, Fish is doing a fine job, the talent and effort is there...it was nauseating and there was no way they could ever recover. I no longer watch their after-game show religiously as I once did. I like Ray Lucas on the Jets post-game show. he is angry when they lose, he says what needs to be said, he holds no punches. Wally and Hahn are gutless to say anything negative about the team.
