Knicks · the experts are still stupid (page 1)

knicks1248 @ 12/5/2015 7:47 PM
I can't believe the same writers that stated kp is 2 to 4 yrs away from having an impact, continue to say we're a long shot at making the playoffs.

We are 4 botched rotations away from having the best record in the east. Had AA been healthy, and sasha and admundson been unhealthy we would be no less than 3rd in the east.

Can't believe these fckers get paid to predict things that never seem to play out

nixluva @ 12/5/2015 7:56 PM
Just ignore them cuz they don't really study the team as deeply as they try to make it seem. We are far more clued into what is going on with this team than many of these so called experts. Even after all of this dearly mishaps the Knicks are still right there within range in the East.
GustavBahler @ 12/5/2015 8:06 PM
The KP predictions, every GM, scout, former player, thought he wasnt going to be ready for a couple of seasons, even Phil is amazed. Those who said that we were 2 years from making the playoffs are definitely out of their minds.
Caseloads @ 12/5/2015 9:52 PM
um, we are in 11th place in the conference right now.
mreinman @ 12/5/2015 10:25 PM
yeah sure the writers are stupid. We are def making the playoffs .... most def

So that means we're 2-4 years away from the playoffs?

Yeah nothing that happened in the summer league would indicate he would be this successful this fast. Also, he was held out a lot for injuries. A few months later and he is durable and putting up roy numbers. I can't say that I remember any posters predicting this success. I think most were just quicker to recognize this guy is for real sooner because of the intense passion for the team and watching the guy play every minute he played.
Nalod @ 12/6/2015 9:19 AM
The op assumes great enthusiasm to assume we win games we botch.
At the same time one with less can say we should be grateful to be flirting with.500 so early in the season with so many new players, vets returning from long layoffs not playing, and a rookie exceeding all expectations.

Most fans said about 35-40 wins as the predictions.

Sir charles said we'd make the playoffs. Id don't matter what "experts" do, its whats on the court that matters.

JrZyHuStLa @ 12/6/2015 2:36 PM
Losing to Milwaukee twice isn't helping some of your arguments regarding the playoffs.
clyderules @ 12/6/2015 2:50 PM
Our team is very mediocre. We should trade Melo if possible, Lopez, Afflalo, Calderon and Seraphin to make us better down the road. KP, Grant and Galloway are the future. Bring up Trice, Jimmer, Atkins maybe Saunders and let's get a few more young players for our future. We're not good enough to contend with these guys.

Does every team get these same caveats or just the Knicks? If we're four botched rotations away from being the top seed, are the Cavs a Kyrie away from being the same? What about the Bulls?

Sometimes these things happen in the NBA. Not just to the Knicks.

they were gassed last night. that is not a good variable to use in thinking about how many wins they could get this year.

synergy has been seen in glimpses and even more than that. the knicks need to continue to patiently develop their teamwork now that fisher has chosen the ten players he is going with.

plus this is a two-year arc of development, despite the emergence of kp6. does his emergence change the narrative arc of two-years into "win-now"?

no, it does not. 34 wins is most likely, 38-41 wins if all goes well. 43 wins probably gets you a playoff spot. things would have to go spectacularly well for the knicks to be able to attain 43 or more wins.

Disagree immensely.

You think that we can contend for a championship with our talent level?
stopstandthere @ 12/6/2015 8:45 PM
Well, they need to write something to earn a living anyway.

I agree. I love rooting for d league players but most of them arent going to make an nba roster and if they do their upside isn't that high. The Knicks are building a sustainable team. Being young can't be the reason guys are on the team. See Philly if you want to see what a team without talented high character vets is like. Last year was the year to tank and try out youth. The Knicks dont have their pick. The organization also hasn't had money to spend in free agency since 2010. I can't see just flushing those moves away 21 games in.

its a new team with new players playing together. There has been some early success, there have been some early struggles.

Will the early successes be harder to come by now that the league has figured some things about the Knicks out?

Or will will the early success be easier come by as the new players gell, build chemistry and start to figure things out?

I predicted 45-37 and am sticking to that.

SupremeCommander @ 12/7/2015 8:48 AM
This team still gives away games to lesser talent... I'd say that the writers are still within range until the Knicks actually make the playoffs. It is a long season
gunsnewing @ 12/7/2015 9:44 AM
I had them at 45-37 as well Fish. Especially once we finally do something about Calderon and the starting PG
Nalod @ 12/7/2015 9:51 AM

"Experts are stupid".....

So says the one who knows better?
