Knicks · what a difference practice makes (page 1)

I think they will look great tomorrow, with every game hey played without practice their cuts get weaker and weaker

That was snip from a text chat I was having with a buddy who is also an old UK member who doesnt really post anymore. I thought it was an interesting point. It was much MORE interesting when you consider how they played last night with the great ball movement and team work.

When you have this many new guys and your older guys are being asked to do different things than they have in previous situations there is a learning process. The key word there is PROCESS.

That being said the practice comment was really telling and I thought last night really showed how these guys can look when they start building synergy and chemistry. That being said its a process, and the bad play and the fails are part of that.

Yes, it looked like the practice time led to better fundamentals, back to basics type of ball.

Over the losing streak, it looked like they were thinking instead of reacting, then it led to breaking offense and more 1 on 1 ball.

Let's hope those extra reps and the feeling of victory translates over the next few games. The east is tough this year, it'll be hard pressed to get the younger players some much needed playoff experience with the amount of above .500 teams in the conference.

Maybe....but playing against a so-so defensive team helps. It's been said over and over....when you put pressure on the triangle, the players need to stick with it and counter otherwise it breaks down, and the team reverts to ISO and lack of movement. Last night was a good sign, and I want to see the same thing against a decent defensive team.

This is very true. Every team they've played a quality defensive team we've seen a lot of break downs in the offense. Atlanta, San Antonio, Cleveland games stand out in my memory

Recall the 2014-15 Cavs were 19-20 on Jan 13 2015. I'm not saying the Knicks are the Cavs, but they do have 8 new players on their roster, 2 of their starter/holdovers hardly played/played with one another, and one holdovers next game will be his 72nd.

Lots of room and time to grow.

fair but add some perspective... there is no system that can overcome superior talent that is also playing like a team. I mean Cle, SAS, Atl... those teams are better than the Knicks and far more seasoned with better chemistry and synergy. I think we can get there but thats kind of my point.. its a process, not a line up shuffle.
