Seems to be a perfect system for him.

Goes against Butler tomorrow, though...right?

Should be interesting.

On paper knicks lose. If they win it's bc of team chemistry and the Knicks seem to genuinely like playing w each other.

People were sort of down on the signing, but I was really psyched about it. I was bummed when Portland got him in a trade last year - I was like "that's the exact type of SG we need"... he's a really good fit here. We really need to take advantage of his effectiveness in the post late game.

I felt the same way. I also thought he signed for a very reasonable contract with the money that was being thrown around. I remember him killing the Knicks in Orlando. I didn't watch him much in Portland.

A disgrace.

Someone also questioned the job Brown has done earlier in this thread...

Brown got the extension, but for a guy who came from SA, you don't exactly see their kind of mentality on the floor, or the kind of players he would have been used to. I'm talking less about results...more about an attitude toward the game.

Say what you want about Fisher, and some cursed him last year for winning games when we should have been losing- but the guys we had out there played hard, despite the talent gap...and that told you a lot about the players we had out there and Fisher.

Hinkie always has to be brought up, though. A cook can't make good food without rotten ingredients, and this Sixer lineup is a complete joke.

If more than 50% of these guys are back, I'll be stunned.

Brown has to wear a lot of hats. He has no vets other than Landry who is hurt. I believe everyone else is 25 or under (maybe 26). Brown has said it would be nice to have a vet in the locker room but that he has to be that presence. He also is the face of the franchise in the press because Hinkie doesn't meet with the media. I know he is very respected. I heard Bobby Marks on Fox sports a few weeks ago talking about how he was worried that Brown's development as a coach would be stunted by coaching a team that just keeps losing.

I think I remember that Marks comment, too...was it also on his Twitter feed?

First time I ever heard it applied to a coach.

I think they gave him the extension with this in mind...did not want him to coach like he was in a lame duck situation.

I agree

Hi kei forgets these guys are hyper competitive athletes. You will break their confidence and will wi5h enough loses. Plus they start worrying about their stats rather than wills to pad their resume for the next gig

They need to clean house.

Despite his play, when you looked at OK4 when there was a break of some sort, he did not look happy. He has confidence, but you wonder about how much he is willing to give the team with some of the guys he has to play with.
I thought Breen did a good job of talking about the high character vets on the knicks that helped KP. Guys like Jose, Sasha, Lance and Lou bring it and are very professional. Obviously Melo has taken on a mentoring role with KP and Afflalo seems to want to lead and use his experience. The Knicks have very high character team.
Chandler @ 12/18/2015 10:02 PM
I've heard it said that a coach either needs to win or develop players and the great coaches do both

I know brown was brought in to develop but I can't think of a single guy who is improving on that team

They're going to crush the will of Noel, ok4 and maybe embid if they don't act

I follow him on twitter but I can't remember. I would guess that he or someone else would quote him from that interview.

I said it at the start of this season and I'm saying it again: I've been wanting the Knicks to go after AA from the moment Melo came over. Speculation is exactly what it is, just speculation. But I can clearly imagine how different things would have been if we'd had AA those years instead of.... you guessed it, headcase JR.

Right now MELO, Afflalo and KP are the core! If we had a better PG this would be a near contender in the East. Knicks aren't that far out as some may think. If we had an aggressive and quick PG who was NBA ready it would change everything.

I agree. Do you think Jennings or Lawson is that guard? I am not sure about either guy. I think the Knicks team has a lot of character and they like each other. I think the team might lose a lot if they trade Jose. His former coaches rave about his leadership. I don't know if the two guys that are available fit what the Knicks need or provide more for the team then what the team has.

Double OT and a Bulls win would be good for us. Detroit is ahead of us and we need Chicago tired.

DOUBLE OT!!!

Double ot
