He has as much talent as anyone in the last draft. Big body too could easily play nba 5 and be a tough match up. They have a star in the making there

He's a solid nba role player......
Briggs I remember you were high on him and mentioned him during the draft period. He's been buried behind their bigs but he looked really good I thought as well.
He looked really good. I wonder if this facilitates a Noah trade.

I tend to think they'll just let Noah go this summer.
But there's a big problem in Chicago. Jimmy Butler just threw their coach under the bus last night. That team has championship caliber talent and they do not seem well coached. Their are a bunch of attitude issues on the team as well, it seems.
What a great long term fit he would be next to porzingis up front.

I saw that. I read a couple of the Chicago papers accounts and they had a longer quote than Isola. That can't be good. Following a guy like Thibs had to be hard. It reminds me a bit of when Dantoni left Phoenix or when Riley left NY. The next guy in with the different style doesn't have much of a chance.
Chicago killed themselves. They had a great mix and a chance to really make crank out a machine of solid basketball for the foreseeable future.
They totally disregard Noah, they disrespect Taj Gibson... they never addressed Derrick Rose. They gave that euro cat the keys on day one and he wasn't ready for that. They made the team Gasols team and he wants out.
They drafted mcdormett, they drafted this kid portis... they need to make trades and rebuild before they get it in their mind they need to sign someone else.

Chicago's management has always been questionable. They draft great talent but they often have issues developing the kids and keeping them happy and getting to play in a cohesive system. They drafted Tyson Chandler, Ron Artest, Elton Brand, Joakim Noah, Luol Deng, Derrick Rose, Jimmy Butler, Jamal Crawford, Hinrich, Portis, Gibson, Mirotic, etc etc etc... drafted so well, but never able to develop them into a cohesive team for whatever reason. I feel like that team always falls well short of expectations in the post-season.

Nahhhh...I expect him to be a pretty good starting PF for the Bulls...more than a role player, IMO.
Might make Gibson expendable sooner rather than later.
I think he was a steal where he ended up being drafted.
Maybe someday Atlanta will look back and wonder why they did not take him at 15 instead of trading for THJ. They probably could have used his size and his shot.

How many times have you seen him play in college and the pro's to make such a brlliant prediction?
I was very surprised he dropped to the 20's and thought he was the biggest steal at the draft
At the draft, while Briggs, was sold on Justin Anderson and Normal Powell, I felt he would have been perfect to pair with KP that could contribute right away at PF/C (perfect for the way the league is trending with smaller/versatile lineups that could shoot and POST for our system)
Some here felt Grant was the 2nd best PG on the draft (NixLuva)
I would have no problem trading him either or letting him develop at his own pace, if we could sign/trade for some of these "value" talents/contracts
While I thought he could be the next Jermaine Oneil and would have signed JO to mentor him as a development coach
As for PG's, I would much rather have Ish Smith and Jeremy Lin for "value", even Shved, at least on cap friendly contracts till Westbrook, Lowry, CP3, and some others will be available 1 1/2 years from now
Lin looks like he regained his speed/quickness and confidence, while Ish Smith has been productive and is already one of the quickest/fastest PG's in the entire league
Both would allow us to push the pace and run the PnR efficiently with KP and CA
IMO,
We need multiple ball handlers/facilitators in different positions
If we can get rid of Robin Lopez and Calderon's contract it would be great and better utilize some of our salary
Shabazz Muhummed *maybe in a trade for Calderon and Kevin Martin swap*
Josh Smith/David Lee
Gereld Green/Turner
Ish Smith/Jeremy Lin *player option*
doubt we can get Battum if Bobcats want to keep him..
Russ Smith/Dwinwidee/Tyler Johnson
Ray Maccalumm
Slow MO

Yeah i see him as a solid starting 4 but can't see him being too good at the 5 spot. He was projected in the draft to go anywhere from around 10 to like 20/25 but i thought he would gone much sooner then he did. Chicago got a steal that late.

Forget it. Chicagoisn't going to let him go. He's on that rookie contract for at least the next 4 years.
So we had to a chance to have Porzingis and Portis on the same team? But selected Grant instead? Wow.....But it was hard to pass up a position of need......Thats why you don't draft for need......You draft on rankings.....
Portis looked great when i saw him in vegas
- has a great motor and huge eyes..lol. reminds me of KG
- since leaving college, he has expanded his range
- still needs to work on ball handling; closing out perimeter defenders
- rebounds and defends very well
chicago would be wise to get rid of noah and/or gibson
