Phil Jackson has done a very very underrated job in the team he put together. Melo's a great scorer, but he's not a playmaker for teammates natutally or makes teammates around him better. If he were, this team would be an eastern conference contender - 50 wins type. Melo creates mostly for Melo, and thus it doesn't fully utilize players around him.

And these guys were in the finals last year.....

I know Phil is thinking, if only we had the draft first, then free agency.....I don't think Melo would be a knick right now. Phil could've used that max money more wisely.....I'm sorry, not trying to come across as a Melo hater.....I'm just a Melo fan because he's a knick. If he was on any other team, I would be trashing him. We could've used his cap space on a younger two way player.

He has been awesome.

Looks like Fisher is a better substitution coach when he has only solid role players and no star.

I'm telling you guys, it's very hard to find the right combination of players to fit around Melo.

dk7th @ 12/23/2015 8:52 PM
man i do not like the cavaliers players thompson, smith, williams
dk7th @ 12/23/2015 8:53 PM

well he has shown flashes but not enough to see a trend into that sort of franchise-level player. still has 50 games to elevate and solidify his game.

He brings a lot to that second unit. I like him better than Seraphin.

In 30 games, they have now won at least 2 quarters about 25 times.

Does anyone else think this significant (?)

Not really, points for vs. points against for the season is a better indication of where the team stands.

to counteract all the moving screens that NEVER get called

SocraticBallin22 @ 12/23/2015 8:57 PM
This unit is playing really well on defense swarming to the ball!
broadwaystorm @ 12/23/2015 8:58 PM
IDK what is wrong with Grant and why the hell does he always throws those layups into the stratosphere? Why doesn't he just try to shoot?
nyknickzingis @ 12/23/2015 8:58 PM
Fisher left Porzingis out of the game too long. Offense really dried up. We had CLE on their backfoot. I think this will cost us, because CLE will close strong at home.

True but just automatically switching without trying to fight through the screen is just lazy defense. You cannot just easily switch for bad mismatches.

I agree....I thought Seraphin would be solid for us, but it's clear we need more energy guys on the court at all times.
