Knicks · Carmelo called out the Knicks (is he speaking about Fisher?) (page 1)
But in your world its all about going where you want to with it.
I'd say that even if you were right about Fisher, since you have no objectivity you have lost credibility to present any reasonable presentations to argue the case. After each loss you try to slam the coach regardless.

That was after the Utah game. It was well warranted. This is the first time Carmelo called out his team and coaching staff. I always wandered why he never said anything early on. The "Yoyo" second unit would never be this poor if Kobe or Lebron or even Durant were here. They would have called out the coach for it long ago
- No predictability in his rotations, kind of goes by the seat of his pants
- Never rides the hot hand, tends to sub out whoever is hot (Not including Carmelo)
- Makes no adjustments throughout the game after other team makes their adjustments
- Does not know when to call a timeout when the other team goes on a run
- But what bothers me most about him is he is hurting Porzingis' development
He has KP floating around the perimiter aimlessly with no set plays at all for him.
Anything KP gets is off putbacks and the luck of getting a pass in an ptherwise broken play.
I have not seen one play where KP comes off a pick, goes off a screen, rolls to the basket... just nothing for KP by design.
He is killing KP's offensive efficiency by pulling him in and out of lineups for no reason at all.
On top of that he seems to think that Lance Thomas and KP are the same player.
Fisher is not creative at all, and has no real bread and butter skill he can depend on.
Woodson had defense, D'Antoni had offense, Fisher has nothing....
I think we would have at least 3 or 4 more wins with either coach.
The thing that irritates me most about Fisher is he has an ego problem. If the Garden chants for KP, Fisher gets a chip about it and refuses to put him in. Like he is trying to prove a point that he will not be swayed by the crowd. He has been awful as coach so far and has hurt KP's development.
KP is a new breed of player, but our hack for a coach has no clue how to take advantage of his strengths.

It's clear to me you know nothing about basketball just because a lot of us think fisher is clueless . We actually back it up with basic basketball knowledge of coaching. Pointing out what fish is clearly not doing as a coach.
You on the otherhand just say stuff like "you've lost your credibility " or no objective ... Umm I'm pretty sure 1969 has been very objective on multiple points on why fish isn't head coaching material. Hence all the threads he has started about his disgust for his coaching ability.
It's time to back up your reasoning if anyone here has lost credibility it's you and mrmarian all you guys do is try and bash the poster with saying stuff like "you don't know what your talking about" or "keep digging your hole" how about your reasoning for why fish is a good coach cause I would love to hear it... Or actually hear any basketball knowledge come out of your post. Cause all I here is nagging about other posters opinions. Have you ever even played organized basketball? I have all the way to college . I'm down to play any day of the week after 5pm if you wanna go to school.
Time for you to back up your bash son

Instead of belittling another persons opinion try adding to the conversation yourself... If you want to be objective go see a therapist.

Thank you so much fitzfarm, I try to neglect these cats, because I can see through their agenda. They want me to become boisterously disrespectful, but I won't give them that satisfaction
The problem is not only coaching being inexperienced, but Melo himself hasn't shown to be an elite player worthy of the super max he is getting. Phil has put a good roster - not a great one - but a good one. Put LBJ, Curry, Harden, Westbrook, Durant or someone of that class on this team and they take it to the playoffs. Melo's not good enough to be the man on a very good team. It's time for everyone in NY to accept this, including Phil. Phil built this team with Melo in the Kobe/Jordan role in mind but MJ/Kobe were much better players and mainly much better playmakers. They could get you 7-8 assists a night on a consistent basis or drop 40-50 if that's what's needed. Melo's a fringe all-star at this point. Best move Phil can make is trade him. I say this as a guy who likes Melo and appreciates that he truly wants to help NY and win as a Knick. But it won't happen so long as he's making 25 million a year and being asked to be the man/MVP on the team.
I try to help Melo to get him to a place he would have signed with as a FA. LA, Miami or Chicago. I won't do the deals just to make the deal, I'd want something back, but I'd definitely try to accommodate him and get him there, and take the best deal out of the 4 destinations (Clips, Lakers, Heat or Bulls).

I wonder how many games the guys mentioned win if their top two teammates are Afflalo and Porzingis? Also, Houston is really struggling despite their win on Christmas. Bickerstaff gave a pretty harsh interview with the media suggesting that guys are looking for numbers and buckets versus trying to win.
nyknickzingis wrote:Porzingis is no worse than any 2nd best teammate Harden has. Porzingis is giving the team 13/8/2 in 27 minutes with a PER of 18, and stretches the floor maginificently. Harden and Porzingis together would be a nightmare S/R combo, as would any of the guys I mentioned. The very core problem with Melo is that he can score, but that's all he does. He can't naturally do things great perimeter players can - which is run S/R with their best big guy, or rake up on assists. He can do it once in a while, but it feels so forced and unnatural. His days of averaging 27-28 ppg a season are over as well. He's on decline, and Phil would be very smart to move him within now and draft day 2016 to get this re-build done right. This team is wasting time continuing to rely on Melo to be a Jordan or Kobe like player - he just isn't. He isn't even a top 10 player anymore.Have you been watching the games much? Melo is playing really well and his game is definitely team oriented. Porzingis had a rough night last night and he will have those. In regards to assists, Melo has gone for a good stretch currently where he is averaging 5 a game and it would be higher if some of his teammates could hit open shots more consistently. I think there are problems with the team but Melo is one of the things that is right about it this year.
Knicks1969 wrote:Carmelo is playing magnificent basketball all season long; but too bad the sideline is not really doing much to help him out. I don't know if you've noticed that we are always a decent first half team; the problem is always in the second half, for which the sideline is often the main culprit
magnificent is a gross exaggeration. Team oriented, definitely.

I never said Fisher was good coach yet, and I never thought the knicks would be a .500 team.
Because our roster is as it I don't think much more can be done. I don't know a lot about basketball, but I know what a 5 year contract represents which is called a commitment. It was also done so he could grow into the job.
Calling for his head sounds like some of you really think this team SHOULD be winning more. One might say the team is well coached because they they don't get blown out and have been in winnable games. That don't mean they should win them. Yet.
Rant all you want but Fish will be here until he loses his heart to do the job, or he feels he is over his head and does not want to do it.
Yes, he is over his head, and he is not a good coach. But maybe he is doing a good job. Just cuz Melo called out his team doe snot mean he called out his coach's. If he did, then bully for him. Since when is Melo the bellwether of goodness anyway?
Eastern conference is way tough this year and we are not very good. Not terrible, but I see improvement. our lead against Atlanta was the potential. This team has to learn to trust and learn to close. Even before that it needs to figure out how to do better in the 3rd period. Thats obvious.
So what coach do some of you recommend can take this team to the next level?
