IMO these are teams we have already played, the game plan should be clearer, and adjustments should be in store. Hawks, bulls, miami are not playing lights out, and don't scare anyone.

remind me again of how many wins you predicted for the knicks this season?
They're also just dumping the ball and allowing some ISO work from Melo or Afflalo.
If you look at analytics though, Calderon on screen roll as a ball handler isn't very effective. If NY wants to run more screen rolls they need a better scoring ballhandler one that can actually draw doubles or defensive attention.
In fact I think Calderon is way more effective when he is aggressive within the Triangle in getting to a spot up situation and shooting 3's. He's a good shooter.
I feel the main weakness with the starters and the Triangle is not any of the guys are naturally good at moving off the ball or passing (other than Jose). Melo likes to shoot jumpers and score. To run it better need more off the ball movement and speed as well as another playmaker. Derrick Williams is a great fit for the Tri, and someone who can pass the ball instead of the one dimensional Afflalo would also help.

OK you guys really don't have a CLUE as to what the Triangle is. Once again. The Triangle Offense or the Triple Post Offense, which is it's true name, is a complete system and the Side Triangle is only one aspect of it. There are many other sets in the system that have nothing to do with the Side Triangle!!! I can't seem to make it get thru to everyone that if you don't know what to look for you can assume that they aren't running the system when IN FACT THEY ARE!!!
The Knicks only run one system!!! The Triangle is actually a Full Court offense and not just a Half Court offense. Most of you would not even recognize plays such as the Blind Pig, which is not the Side Triangle!!! So if they run it then you think they are not running the System when in fact they are. Also at any time players can improvise but the Principles are still there. There is a principal in the offense where the players learn to fill certain spaces on the floor and make cuts and when they do this it's still in the offense even tho they aren't using the side Triangle.
Pick and Roll is JUST A PLAY!!! It's not a system.

watching triangle looking sets seems that there are too many people inside the arc and not nearly enough "spread"

WTF??? They're not doing something different!!! They're still running the Triangle and as i've said before it's an entire SYSTEM and not just a play. So you can change what you focus on at any point and still be in the system. People need to stop talking what they don't understand. This is a fully formed SYSTEM and as such it's not hard to tweak or FEATURE different aspects of it. You can add things at will.
There is already PnR and 4 out 1 in aspects in the system already but people don't know that. What happens on the floor is still very much on the players since it's a read and react system and players will be responsible for how they react or don't react. If your defender does this you can take advantage by doing this or that. You can set up your defender by going to an inside cut or outside or V cut etc. A guard can take the Dribble Hand Off and charge to the basket or pull it back and set up a PnR. The skills of the player are very much a factor in the offense.
I liked DWill for this system because he's an excellent slasher and cutter and finishes well at the rim. That in addition to his ability to push the ball and get out on the break. He's usually quicker than other PF's and can drive past guys even in a crowd. RoLo has struggled but seems to be getting more comfortable. Melo, KP, DWill, Gallo, KOQ, LT and Afflalo are able to function well in the system and are getting gradually better over time.
We need to bring back sammy dally to help the youngins figure this sh1t out cause its on them.

Dude what the heck is wrong with you, Fisher even said that the players are not running it to it's full extent, kobe said it, shaq said it, rick fox said it, charlie Rosen said it.
If you know it like the back of your hands, maybe you should find away and reach out to phil or someone in the organization since you seemed to be a triangle guru.

When did Fish say he was moving away from the Triangle? I don't recall him saying that. The Triangle is the BASE SYSTEM and you can add to it, so there's no reason to "shy away" from your system. Just focus on what works best for your group.
Regarding the schedule they have to learn from what went right in the last game and try to keep that level of execution on both ends. Every team is different and that's what makes it tough from night to night. I just want to see a consistent performance from game to game in terms of what they are supposed to be doing. If the Knicks can execute and stay aggressive on offense they'll be competitive every night.

Which would be having slim to nothing to do with the triangle. It is evident that running mostly PNR and some specific sets of the triangle(for DWill).

OK you guys really don't have a CLUE as to what the Triangle is. Once again. The Triangle Offense or the Triple Post Offense, which is it's true name, is a complete system and the Side Triangle is only one aspect of it. There are many other sets in the system that have nothing to do with the Side Triangle!!! I can't seem to make it get thru to everyone that if you don't know what to look for you can assume that they aren't running the system when IN FACT THEY ARE!!!
The Knicks only run one system!!! The Triangle is actually a Full Court offense and not just a Half Court offense. Most of you would not even recognize plays such as the Blind Pig, which is not the Side Triangle!!! So if they run it then you think they are not running the System when in fact they are. Also at any time players can improvise but the Principles are still there. There is a principal in the offense where the players learn to fill certain spaces on the floor and make cuts and when they do this it's still in the offense even tho they aren't using the side Triangle.
Pick and Roll is JUST A PLAY!!! It's not a system.
Agree Nixluva - no idea what these guys are looking at or talking about. How can someone watch this team all the time and not know we are running the triangle the majority of the time. I get the sense most guys don't eve ulster stand the basic flow of the system.

Yeah I know. It's been frustrating to say the least. What team would spend MONTHS working on a SYSTEM and commit to it in their D League team as well and then not use that system? Phil is committed to the Triangle in every way.
