Oops. Meant Bondy.

Yeah I saw that tweet! I'm kinda glad Phil is taking his time to really take a good look at all the players out there. His scouts are pretty good so I hope they take a good look at all the options before making a final decision. We know Toure has the size and D we'd like. Don't know if the rest of his offensive game is a good fit or not. I'll leave it up to Phil. I haven't seen enough of Toure this year to make a judgment.

Dude is long, can defend and penetrate
yellowboy90 @ 1/9/2016 10:58 PM
I always thought his D was overrated and that he was easily out muscled. I hope he has polished his game though.

He has gotten a lot of praise on the d league blogs that I read and his maturity is often mentioned. I do think it is a positive that they aren't just bringing someone up from Westchester.

His jumper looks improved.

Knicks1969 @ 1/9/2016 11:07 PM
Didn't Phil want to sign this dude two years ago?

I always liked Tour'e. The year he was here, he and Shump had the highest defensive rating of any backcourt pairing in the league.

His jumper does look improved. We know he can defend at an NBA level.

I'd give a 10-day contract to him over Jimmer

I like his size as a PG; and his ability to defend. He and Grant can be groomed together, why not?

He seems like he's matured very nicely. That's the kind of 2 Way Combo guard that we could use. He's got the size and length we want at the same time he's looking much more confident offensively. I'd have no problem with bringing him back.

Here's another game highlight.

Tour'e makes a lot of sense; specially, given that we will invest to keep Langston who is a 6'2" SG. We need length....

Yeah he's not a great offensive player but adding his defense will mean more to us than adding just a scorer would. I think it would add more versatility to the lineups you can play. It can be a tough call but since this team is really showing some serious defensive ability, it would be great to be able to add another solid defensive player at guard. We could put some KILLER defensive lineups on the floor.

I agree. As currently constituted, the biggest problems with the Knicks are the inability to stop opposing PGs and and speed up the tempo/penetrating the paint to collapse the defense. Murry is good at both of these things. If he is now a confident offensive player, he is even a greater asset

Yeah. He also seems like he's gonna run the offense and he's not looking to be a "Superstar" or play "hero ball". He's capable of doing everything but he's a more humble player. With a team like this that could make him a much better fit. We know he has some familiarity with being in NY too.

Uhhh . . . why isn't anyone mentioning that he doesn't have Triangle experience (?)
Clean @ 1/10/2016 1:24 AM
Am I the only one who notices that our bench is in need of scoring? I loved Murry when he was 1st with us but our bench stuggles unless DWill has a good game. I would tryout Jimmer/Erick Green 1st then and if they both don't workout I would try Murry.
SocraticBallin22 @ 1/10/2016 1:31 AM
Let's see...he is a plus defender who can guard opposing point guards and contain penetration--by far our biggest weakness right now. He has good length and athleticism and can guard multiple positions--optimal in switching situations. He is an unselfish playmaker always looking to set up his teammates first. He has greatly improved his pg skills with the help of Van Exel coaching him in D league. He also happens to rebound really well for a guard. His only weakness is his jump shot. If he finds any consistency with it, and he has improved, he would be a huge upgrade for us at the position. To me it's a no brainer to give him a 10 day.He fills a need; doesn't cost anything, and by the way, is a real good guy and would fit right in with the team.

Yes, the bench is in need of a scoring punch, this is precisely why I think it is time to let go of a Seraphin and Sasha. We need fresh legs and defensive minded cats that can play both ends of the court

Out muscled by who?? Other point guards?? He's got size for a point guard so i don't see him getting out muscled really. His problem is his offensive game. I remember him being good at getting to the basket but bad at finishing and putting the ball in the basket.
