It's almost mind boggling how different this team is now.
It's a great story. A Triangle Culture story.

TOTAL. basketball.
Seriously Im getting pretty comfortable with Fisher. The right guys are out there and in a position to succeed every night. Bottom line is it starts with the front 3's defense. Melo is defending at a very high level and most of all making plays on that side of the ball. KP's ability to smother inside out guys like the Milsaps and Love's the league is allowing Lopez to patrol the paint and that forumula is starting to win every night.
The way Melo is playing and the fact that the role players don't have to be perfect this team is capable of a big run here and now. These last 5 game have been very telling. Wow. Im having fun. Of course I picked 45 wins not like these low 30's pussies

Whoa now you better watch out talking good about Calderon on here cause not everyone understands what he does for the team. That's your first warning...lol
fans have been pretty fair about calderon actually. His shooting has been good but his passing and defense has not been. Tonight he is playing his best overall game. Nobody has ever questioned his leadership
Not every fan has been fair and that's a fact and he's had better games this year.
I have said all year long, when dude is scoring the ball he should play, but he hasn't been consistent at all
Haven't you been watching the whole game like when they went to a video of Fisher earlier talking about how they don't ask Calderon to do more and it's not about stats when it comes to what he brings on the floor?? You can't just go on a players stats to judge them for what they bring to a team.
That is fisher's way of covering for Jose's inept performances. When a dude is giving up 20+ points on defense, and can't count on to provide some offense, there isn't much use for that guy. Tonight he was efficient; had a couple of steals, shot well, and defended better. But to be honest, he was guarding an inept offensive player in MCW who was bothered by our interior bigs
inept?
boy you can get annoying. How about the way he played teague?
Still calling for some koq?

I cant honestly tell if you are trolling or not. Jose led the team with a +33. Mel was 2nd with a +24. Jose most certainly has limitations, but he is a legit floor general. The team is simply playing great when he is on the floor. 7 assists, 3 steals, 1 TO. Digest that statline and come back and tell you know something about basketball.

I have. He's like Melo's new lil' brother. I feel like Melo's last lil' bro was JR.
Yeah melo loves JR. He still talks good about him and calls him his brother.
JR made Carmelo a terrible player. There are certain guys you have in your corners that hinders your true growth; JR is that type of dude.

I have to admit I doubted the hell out of the Triangle and Phil. But damn. Damn. He's been pretty good so far. This is the most I've been excited about a team here in a loooong time. I thought the 2012-3 team was a bit of fool's gold. This feels sustainable. The front court feels like it could be one of the better ones in the league. The backcourt is competent, but there is a lot of room to improve there, both from within and with solid FA additions. This is definitely fun!

The last five games, he played decent and I conceded that. I also conceded that fisher has done a MUCH better job; particularly with the rotation

Still way too early to worry about 8th place or playoff ranking, in my opinion.
Around the 65 game mark I think that stuff becomes real interesting because each night it changes.
Right now there's still so many games left and so many possible slumps/hot streaks that can change everything. What's more interesting to me is that at 19 wins we're only 3 wins less than the #4 seed in the East. That's pretty crazy. We've been beating or competing with every good team in the league the last few weeks. I don't know if 8th place is what we should look at. I just want the guys to stay focused on playing better and better. Same effort. There will be ups and downs. Wherever we finish as long as there's progress vs last season and there's a clear development in what this team does on a nightly basis it helps the future - particularly free agency in the summer.
Knicks may want to think about making a move to clear some capspace for next summer because as it stands, they're going to be far more an interesting location to play in than in year's past or last year.

I've followed the Jackson Triangle for quite some time.
Winning with the Triangle Culture . . . feels different than just winning.
That's why I follow it . . .

Kobe is headstrong; bad comparison. Carmelo is a better player minus JR.

I never thought the 54 win season was fool's gold and I still dont. We simply took big personel steps backward, both in over all roster talent and individual performances.
This certainly feels MUCH more real and sustainable, but I also think that is Phil running the show, Fisher being his hand picked guy and Dolan staying the hell away.
The big eye opener this season is Melo's play, but you are right... the system looks fantastic right now and so does the defense... #1 vs 3pt FG%, #8 in overall FG% against, 6th in blocked shots... and the #s keep getting better and better.

exactly. You me and mreinman are the only people who understand old melo and new melo. The old melo wouldnt pass. The new melo has made those passes and the defensive plays. Im very happy with his play
Ummmmmmmm huh??? Hahahahaha yeah nobody else notices the big change in Melo. LOL
he didn't really change. His teammates changed
His teammates, coaching and his GM/President changed and in return he has changed.
His age, maturity, knees and mindset has changed. Awesome. Why is it so important to be right about why he is a better all around player? We should all be happy we are playing well and he is playing great team ball. However, I hope his legs get better enough to get the old Melo back, at least when we need a pure scorers. It was fun to watch the games he was in a zone.
You dont understand because you dont have two years of blame and hate invested. Some folks need to validate all the time and energy they put into that.
