Knicks · Porzingis has turned this team around (page 4)

This team isn't as good but if we improve the PG position next year and KP's takes another step forward, it can be there pretty soon.

Agree. PJ,and Melo buying are the biggest reasons. His play has enabled players including KP to excel. Dont get me wrong, It is nice to have a talented 7'3 rookie that can shoot as it is to have a Veteran 2 guard that can get hot and carry an offense. As well as a center rhat can provide some defense and low post moves. And young bench improving as is our veteran guard. Lots of good reasons we are all happy about the direction the team is going.

Maybe I am overvaluing the current Knicks? But I think this squad is close MINUS Billups... We dont have an impact guard like that. Jose is playing well and a nice floor general and role player but there is a big gap there. Agree though... that Denver team I mentioned was the best he ever played on, no doubt and a very very good team. I dont know how good this Knick team is. Thrilled with the progress and style of play. Lets see where the win total ends up.

I don't blame melo for the first round exits. I blame him from being an inefficient post season player. Billups that year allowed melo to be a sniper while billups ran the show.
We always said that melo cant be the number 1 guy and he needs to be a 2 or a 3 because melo is melo but that is not true. This melo that I always pined for can certainly be a number 1. He needs to shoot better but now that he is passing, he should get better looks for himself as well.
Melo's dream was always to be olympic melo where guys set him up for good shots and he gets buckets. Olympic melo is great for all star teams.

It's fascinating that you are so good that you even know what Melo's dreams are. Tell me, when he was diving into chairs for loose balls and passing to the likes of Fishlips during the playoffs, what were his dreams then?
Melo can lead and be the alpha dog. Tough to be efficient when you've had the cast he's had. But look, when his cast improves, all of a sudden he's an efficient sniper. Funny how that works.

It's not mutually exclusive to cast. It's a perfect storm of things.
Melo realizing KP can carry the load at times, trusting in the system and Fish and Phil, and also the self realization that he's 31 and has to defer now, because his prime athletic years are behind him.

how did he average his most assists in a season on that horrible MDA year? How did Love average 4.5 assists on a terrible minny squad?
How do so many players who play on really bad teams still find a way to rack up assists?
And, if you played the game you would know that when the ball moves it makes everyone a better player. I have played with ball hogs and it can make good teammates look terrible since they are so out of rhythm and the alpha dog does not believe in them.

WHo the phuch knows what his dreams and what he things. His actions speak enough. assists per 36
weak
Kp, a 14 and 8 guy, Rolo 7 foot average center, Jose solid player taking good care of the ball coming off a bad injury and shaking the rust, HOF, Olympian NCAA champion prolific scorer Melo returning to form and then some after missing half a season to injury, Aflalo hot shooter, etc etc............
After ridding those unbelivers and malcontents the remaining roster buys into the system of movement and is just starting to see the benefits.
Its easy to doubt what you can't see, let alone imagine it.

If he keeps this up he's no longer just a star, he's a superstar, making the team and the players around him better ala MJ,Kobe. We might be seeing melo's greatest act yet!
of course this team is not as good but this is definitely a much better melo
Yea.. Billups >>> Calderon, but this Melo is >>> than that 24 year old Melo
don't think you are appreciating how good those denver teams were and how good the west was at that time.
Funny how that works.
how did he average his most assists in a season on that horrible MDA year? How did Love average 4.5 assists on a terrible minny squad?
How do so many players who play on really bad teams still find a way to rack up assists?
And, if you played the game you would know that when the ball moves it makes everyone a better player. I have played with ball hogs and it can make good teammates look terrible since they are so out of rhythm and the alpha dog does not believe in them.
WTF are you talking about? If you could read, you'd know he averaged his most assists playing with AI (the 24ppg version), Andre Miller, Young JR, Boykins and Steve Blake, (the last three who all shot around 35% from 3).
And when you're playing the game with a bunch of dopey scrubs who can't do anything with the ball besides drop the pass, throw it out of bounds, dribble it off their feet or drive to the hole and throw it against the bottom of the backboard, what do you do then, Mr. Ball Movement? Rack up make believe assists? Chalk up your hero need to win to your brand-conscious ego problems?
We aren't talking about good teammates, we're talking about the likes of Toney Douglas, Ray Felton, Ronnie Turiaf and Shawne Williams. And you have yet to comment on the offensive goodness of Jared Jeffries. I bet you'd pass to him and make him into Jerry West, wouldn't you?
And that horrible MDA year you're referencing when he averaged 3.6 apg, his cast included Tyson Chandler (you know the guy who shoots 68% from the field), Steve Novak, Stat, JR Smith 2, Shump and Jesus Lin.

making an impact reminiscent of the unexpected early-season impact, with at least nine rebounds in five of the last 10 outings. And when that dipped to six on Sunday against the Bucks, he had five blocks to make a difference in another way. Porzingis is second among rookies in rebounding and his 7.9 rebounds in 27.8 minutes is decent production regardless of experience.
