Did someone put a muzzled on this guy, no "State of the knick Union" press conference, No subliminal tweets, no road games, no sightings at practice, not one single opinion on KP since the season started and this guy has soared to one of the most popular players in the NBA, and on his way to being one of the best all time.
Just when he said he would be more involve, it seem like he took a few steps back..I barely see him at home games
you know what the coach should be doing and who should be playing (based on practices?), you should know how involved phil is and how many minutes he should actually be gm'ing per night.

I remember seeing something but can't remember where of Phil talking with Kp at a practice. They had a picture of them talking and they were standing under the basket on the sideline. He's probably doing his part in the closed practices out of respect for Fisher cause the media would run wild with stories if they had pics of him involved in all the practices.
Phil probably just felt Fish needed the space and changed his mind on being more visibly involved. He is doing what he did last year according to Fish. Didn't do the increase they talked about. Seems to have been the right move!

I think Phil said he would be more involved just to appease media and the likes but knew he would do things behind closed doors as he pleased.

I can see that being the case. Phil loves playing the media. Whatever the case may be I think all that matters is the results. I also think Phil is hard at work thinking about his next move.

This could be true, but it's hard to believe he would tinker with this roster if they continue to play at a high level and are winning.

I think he could certainly give Fish more quality depth! No reason not to take a look at a player or 2 that could help. There's a way to work in new players without messing up your chemistry. It's likely to be a guard anyway. If the player has talent there should be some minutes to take a look at some point over the rest of the season.
Being "involved" and being in the media eye is not one and the same.
The team is winning; Phil does not need come in and take away the Spotlight. You would here from him if only won 5 games Phil would be out there
Knicks1969, hows Fish looking these days to you?

Read my latest thread. I credit Phil for ordering him to set a 9 men Rotation

thats almost as bad as the posters who say that melo did not change, he just has better players now.
Phil knows what he did. He doesn't need to come out and make statement after statement. He's letting the team do the talking for him.
Last season the team was doing poorly and his vision and whole trading of Tyson and Shump/Smith came into question and he had to step up and say things.
Now? He's letting it be.

I will always say it as I see it. Melo has changed, but it is due to: maturity, Phil's guidance, and a better collection of talent around him. As for Fisher, he making progress, but let's see he does after a few more games

Melo changed in part because he plays with quality players he can trust. It's not the only reason but he doesn't become this player with last year's roster. Sound reasonable enough?

So many people always said you get Melo a quality supporting cast who can make shots and his game changes for the better. He was an MVP candidate in 2012/2013 and has adjusted this year as well. For those who said that, it was pretty much spot on. For those who never liked Melo, they will naturally say he just changed but it has nothing to do with his supporting cast. Funny how that works.

funny how the flip side works.
many said that melo needs to change and move the ball and make his teammates better. Those people were spot on.
many players with so so teams still played team ball. Melo actually played on good teams but never really played team ball. The year he avg'd the most assists was one of his worst squads. Go figure.
And guess what. The knicks are still not an efficient team yet the ball is moving and they are getting better. And, melo playing defense is kinda nice too.
