1)Why is Sasha Vujacic on this team, or even in the NBA, hes awful!!
2)Why doesnt Kyle O quinn get more minutes (yes he has rondo syndrome and passes when he has the shot....but he just needs to be told to be more aggressive.
3)Calderon needs to be traded, the guy cant stop anyone...its sad

NOW ONTO THE MORE IMPORTANT THINGS

We need to lock up Dwill, 2 year contract with option for 3rd.. NY has embraced him and he has embraced NY
Why dont we bring up jimmer fredette?
Why havent we waived Early? Why is amundson still a knick

Few PG's can lock down another. Calderone does not turn ball over much, and trade him for what? Gallo and Grant are not playing well either. Brigning in a unicorn mystical dleague alternative is change but might be a turnover machine who plays worse.
Jimmer is not a good NBA player. Dleague is not the NBA. Maybe this is the plan after the all star game? I don't know.
Not sure you can waive a guy when he is injured via union rules. If he is out we can apply for a replacement but he is expected back in March.

Lou is an energy guy and sometimes you need a body to throw out there. Dude is a solid pro, gets paid little and puts in the work. Need guys like that.

KQ has to be one of the dumber players in the league. Throws passes when guys are covered, At least once a game gets a foul on a moving pick. He is effective sometimes but I think the coaching staff feels the same way.

Sasha is a mentor to everyone not just KP. I think O'Quinn is the same type of player. They ate vital to the team chemistry. Same could be said of Lou Amundson.

Locking up Derrick Williams? Just a few weeks ago people wanted him traded. He's quietly become very important to what we do. Lance Thomas too... Lance might be the heart and soul of the team. We can't start saying we need to lock then up because truthfully Derrick could command at least double what he's making. Lance probably triple. That time will come.

Knicks need to upgrade the guards. The Knicks are hard to beat when Afflalo is scoring. He has a big game once a week. Not good enough. It's not all in Calderón. We need to get better but how? Can't turn shit into steak.... meaning what kind of trade do you expect to happen if all we are trading is Calderon?

Jimmer Ferdette.... his defense is historically bad. His offense is historically self centered.

1) Understanding Phil and Zen is the key to understanding why Sasha is on the team. Apparently Sasha is some type of mentor and glue guy. Having end of bench guys who buy in, mentor, help coach, work hard and set examples is sometimes more important than having end of bench guys who are somewhat better skillwise but malcontents. This is especially true for a team that has a lot of young guyhis or lacks strong senior leadership. I imagine this is also why Phil signed RoLo. Unlike Sasha he still has skills, however he is tough, a hustle player and a team guy / good in the locker room.

2) Perhaps KOQ should get more minutes - however it's a numbers game and when the rotation was shortened a bit - the team seemed to play better and KOQ was the odd man out. I imagine he will get his minutes again this season.

3) Calderon is steady/serviceable. Trades are about timing and unless the Knicks can get something back that is of value - there is no reason to trade a guy "just because".

4) DWill's agent is likely not stupid. He will look to leverage his play and potential this year on the open market. The salary cap is rising significantly and DWill could likely get about $10 Mil per.

Jimmer / Early / Admundson are all currently end of bench type guys in the NBA. Why they are on a roster or not often comes down to potential (for young guys) hustle and locker room presence and how they handle bench time, support the rotation players, practice and prepare to come in when needed. Not sure why fans focus so much on end of bench guys as if they will be some miracle to helping the team to become an instant winner.

Jimmer also was with the Bulls and Pelicans and went to camp with the Spurs. He is out there for anybody to sign. Sasha should be the 15th man and a mentor to KP which he has been praised for. If you watch the games KP usually is sitting with and talking with Sasha. Also, Sasha knows the offense. In regards to Kyle, he hasn't looked good on the court for awhile. Not sure what he is doing in practice but Seraphin and Lou seem to have jumped ahead of him on the depth chart. Maybe some of this is on him.

KOQ has been hugely disappointing. Dude just has to beat out Lou and Seraphin and can't. Keeps making the same mistake after mistake. Easy stuff too.

Yeah it's the same things with him on the court with the bad passes, the moving picks and just the dumb fouls. I said in another thread that when the season started he was really good for us for the first few weeks and i remember a lot of us on here saying we stole him from Orlando and how he was gonna be a great big off the bench for us but then it all just stopped after the first few weeks.

O'Quinn needs to get faster and lighter. The game is too fast for him right now.

I agree on everything except Sasha n Fredette
Sasha brings off the ball HUSTLE that's needed in our guard rotation.
Fredette needs a season in the D.league to add to his scoring n passing game, plus tighten up on his perimeter-defense

I think that is what it comes down to. Look at Lin, he didn't do much till he got here but was forced to due to injuries.
Since we aren't going to make noise in the playoffs, since we have no lottery pick, since Jose will not in our future plans -
Why not try some guys out here at PG? Why not see what Grant/Jimmer/etc. does starting for 10 minutes?

I personally think Lou is far better than KOQ or Seraphin. Smart player and good defender. Kyle looked good early in the year. Now he just appears fatigued, sloppy, and out of rythym. He can't guard anybody and he's a liability on offense too. Seraphin looks for his shot far too often and he's not qualified to do so. Lou is just decent and knows his role.

And as far as DWill goes, I think he gets overpaid. He's still a major liability on defense in every aspect and just doesn't have a good bball iq. If he can be mentored a lot more and doesn't want a major deal, I might consider it, but he's a risk. Id prefer phil find the next DWill type and get him on another bargain lol
