Hahahaha that's funny but i still stand by the fact that you took it way to far when you're spending all of your time on every thread hating on the guy and it's not like it was hard to see that Fisher wasn't a good coach since even i said it many times on here.

Its a seduction to get paid what he did and take on the NYC thing but the reality is its a tough ass job!!!!!!

Maybe Knicks1969 gets his wish and Luke gets the gig next year. Dolan can't be happy with Phil right now. I mean how much money can a dude spend on coach's!!!!

Excerpt from an article on his contract....

It is not quite as generous as has been widely reported. Although it could be worth $25 million over five years, the deal includes a number of team options, as well as potential bonuses, according to a league source. Fisher's first-year salary is closer to $4 million.

I would think most of us would want Luke to get the job right?? I was interested in him when his name was being thrown around for our job before Fisher got it.

gunsnewing @ 2/8/2016 11:20 AM

We pretty much called it.

And I'm sold on the idea that that Fisher wanted Serafin over Shved.

I just hope Phil is right for sticking to his guns because we are much better when we move away from the triangle. And the players like KP hate the triangle. The triangle should work between Melo & KP. Hopefully Rambis gets the players to buy in or it can get ugly. It would be so Knick like to force KP out

The dude was an obvious failure from the jump. He showed no respect for the game by playing 14 guys at times. I saw through it and called it out. You on the other hand allowed something the cloud your judgement and disregarded the fact that this dude turned our beloved team into a joke

I have to pull a Briggs find the thread where I predicted Fish wouldn't make the all-star break and the entire board let me have it.

FWIW I don't see why Dolan would be mad. Phil's top choice was Kerr, and Kerr certainly validated that judgment. Fisher was a good choice that didn't work out. Did we miss out on another candidate by taking Fisher?

I will keep my fingers crossed with Rambis. I was not impressed with him when he was with Minn. but will be optimistic. The timing of this firing and the replacement with Rambis is very curious. Earlier in the season, Fisher used to get a little testy when Phil's name was raised. He was almost insecure with the topic, being a little brusque in reminding people he, not Phil, was the coach. I'm left to wonder whether the relationship soured, with Fisher not welcoming Phil's suggestions or what?

Perhaps Phil just blew a gasket when Fisher played KOQ, Serpahin and Lou yesterday (including a KOQ Seraphin tandem) all before D Will left the bench

Ditto. With all the experience he's gotten with the Warriors, we need to hire that guy. I'd imagine he'd have a better understanding of how to morph the triangle and what the Spurs do (courtesy of Steve Kerr), to then impliment it here in NY. The triangle is a great system but it needs to accomodate shifts in the current crop of NBA talent and playing styles. GSW understood that and made the adjustments wonderfully.

As a side, I do hope we can keep Fisher around in some capacity in the organization. I personally think that he'd be better as a front office guy. If not, we can kiss hopes of Russell Westbrook in 2017 goodbye.

Why? Your logic was reactionary. Man sees team lose, man gets upset, man calls for coach to get fired.
All your dots connected in the way you wanted but I never read any insight from you.
When the team got to .500 you were happy and complimentary of him.
Then they lose, you call for his head. What great insight did you provide? You only get validated by his firing. That makes you happy. Have at it.

Nalod won't apologize. I think I did when I labeled you instead of what you said. That is rude.

I don't think we've had enough time with Phil to know what kind of President he'll be when it comes to things like this.

i am basing that off of my reading of his book 11 rings. He talks alot about process etc...BUT he also talks about working as one. That may be the issue here.

Yup, thought the Barnes thing was a distraction at the time, apparently Phil did too.

ChuckBuck wrote:I TOLD YOU MUTHERPHUCKAS FISHER LOST THE TEAM!

It was clear as day after he said "Process not Playoffs" and I'm pretty sure the Pistons 1st half cemented this. That was a game that showed a mutiny and a lack of respect for Derek. Showed with the effort.

Phil was certainly watching to see any bounce back from the Detroit debacle, but no such luck with the next few games...

Always falling behind, and showing utter lack of prep.

Good fire, Phil!!! Now if you can learn how to hire a real coach for once...

While I agreed with you that losing the team was a concern, I don't agree that he had already lost it, or with the logic of pointing to those games. In each case they came back but fell short. If he truly lost the team they would have just cratered and lost by 20-30.

I think Phil stepped in before the mutiny happened.

No way. Fisher was primarily fired for his inability to get the players to buy in to the triangle and for going against Phil's mandate. No sense in wasting broadband or airtime discussing Thibs, JVG AND and other big names out there

Hold on, so you think Phil is gonna try to move away from the triangle?? I'm not sure if this is what you're saying but i don't see him going away from his system especially with Rambis taking over but i'd be all for it.
VCoug @ 2/8/2016 11:25 AM
I haven't been on here in months but had to login to celebrate! This man has been a disaster as coach, even worse than Isiah. His rotations are bizarre and he can't diagram plays. I don't care who the interim coach is; there are a ton of great coaches available this Summer. Let's see what Phil will do.

Exactly. These cats around here thought we had no clue about the game, when it is them who need to look in the mirror.

Didn't think Phil would fire him mid season. Thought it would be a strong possibility in the offseason though.

Hard to respect someone that crosses moral and ethical boundaries like it's commonplace.

You simply don't sleep with your teammates or friends ex. Guy code 101. Scumbag move city.
