Knicks · Does this mean that we now have zero shot at KD? (page 1)

how does this look to durant? They are supposedly very close.

Durant was probably not coming anyway but this can't help our tiny chance.

Things change. If the coach is not doing a good job then friendships would not close the deal.
For all we know Fish might have been considered an obstacle?

maybe but its certainly something to think about and I am wondering if they would have let him go earlier if not for the hopes of getting KD

He was never coming here. Too much money involved. This might impact our ability to draw the second tier of free agents, but money talks in the end.

I thought he was the coach. And Gm. And talent scout. And team spokesman. And union rep.

I think it's Matt Barnes is back on our list
smackeddog @ 2/8/2016 2:37 PM
We had zero chance of KD- he didn't even fit with the team anyways.

Remember those days lol.

KD and Melo on the same team? Only if KD is replacing him but he's not coming here so it's a mute point. We need a top pick next year so we can draft a Curry/Westbrook type guard to grow with KP for the next 15yrs especially with the way the game is headed. Hopefully there's another Ben Simmons in there somewhere

Through the aide of a therapist I learned to block out that part of my Knick life.

I think this move was made because Phil was worried about attracting FA this coming summer. I think they feel they have to make the playoffs to get the guy or guys they're targetting. Whoever that may be.

A little too late for that with less than 30 games remaining unfortunately. Should've pulled the trigger before he was forced to rip the team to get them back in triangle mode. It really sucks that we are going to miss he playoffs with no lottery pick to show for it and we aren't going to attack significant free agents. If KP & Grant finalist strong we might have a chance. I'm really not looking forward to another Jason Smith type signing

I don't think it's too late at all. Lots of time for things to change. I think Rambis has been tasked with making the playoffs.

+100

If they get playing well again, we get very attractive

If a guy wanted to come because Fisher was here (and not because of winning), then we don't want him anyway.

We want people who want to be HERE. Phil said that last year and I wasn't sure at the time what he meant, but I think he meant it quite literally. He wants guys like AA, and LT who really, really want to be here.

Knicks stuck with a coach that was struggling in hopes that he would land free agents in 2010. He had to have A meeting to mend fences with Amare to come away with 2/3 of a season of a superstar. I don't think you wait if the fit isn't right. Also, Phil was very complimentary of Fisher in his press conference. This wasn't an easy decision so he must feel that it was the right thing to do and had to be done.
